I actually cant believe they didn't think about that and didn't update the card to not give minions from higher taverns. They have updated any other card, like Lookout to never give minions from higher tavern cause it was a broken mechanism in general and they completely forgot to do it about this card which can give 3 different tavern 6 elementals? They are gonna need to patch this soon.
Right now there's no reason not to pickup Genie even if you're not playing elementals, just drop him and fish for amalgadons and lil rags or worst case there are 3 elementals you can just sell for 2 gold.
That thing is irking me the most about entire update too, if I see someone with t6 elementals and a Genie on board I'm almost positive he didn't even buy them just got em for free
I am playing around with a number of Hero's I see marked as low tier most places that seem to be bumped up for this current Djinn meta or I just haven't learned enough lesson yet. I do not pay for hsreplay at this time so I can't see lists other than the simpleton one. The following minions are all listed tier 4 on that list.
Tess Greymane: This can be strong now since so many people are playing elementals and then it becomes insane late game. I just finished a game where I had 1x golden Djinn plus 2x basic Djinns... and a Baron Rivendare. My 2x Majordomo pumped up Cyclone got me deep and then it got real fun.
Chenvalla: I am doing fairly well with this hero. I do tend to play the minion set available to me each game but I am always looking to shift to Elementals. If they come early enough you tier up so fast to find the good stuff without any real downside as long as you aren't blindly just buying Elementals.
Galakrond: If you start turn 1 to tier up a minion and do it to the same minion each turn you can have a tier 4 (Majordomo) on turn 3, a tier 5 (Djinn or Nomi) on turn 4 or a tier 6 on turn 5. Yes you take a ramp hit but more often than not I score big and it more than makes up for it. He is listed at second to last. Is the hit to the early stat curve too high under normal meta? Is it worth it now?
Any thoughts? Am I still too much of a newb to know better or at those 3 better with the Djinn meta?I have also been trying out and liking but still unsure on the value of The Rat King, Malygos and Infinite Toki.
I just found a site for making a Hero tier list. I could use some experience with my rankings. I ranked them by how excited I get to play each at this particular moment. There are still a couple of Heros I have no played yet and I have until recently not been playing the field. I also only recently started to try demons and pirates.
Tess isn't Tier S in my experience unless there is a strategy I don't know of.
She needs to play synergy opponents/good opponents usually. A good opponent comes with the risk of being killed by that player.
George The Fallen is at least a B. With the best stuff, he is simply unstoppable --- all poisonous divine shield minions. With the worst stuff, you can go defensive and not tier up much and focus on giving everything divine shields which often doesn't get you "wins" but minimizes damage so you are in the late game just because you lived.
Tess is to get the Djinns everyone else finds. Secondly for the Majordomos, Nomis, Cyclines and Rags and for the Elemental bodies to run the engine. Once a nerf comes I will be a lot less excited about her. Before I avoided her.
I will spend more time on George. My initial thought was that the 3 cost was too high to keep up but your points make sense.
Reno is also doing very well in this meta. Just wait to golden one of the above key minions.
I think the problem with gentle Djinni is how damage is calculated. Spawned minions should not do damage to the opponent. Like those great pirate ship and shredder one shots we all love on highlight videos. Take the damage component from the spawned minions including ones that get added to the hand will give opponents to find an answer. Plus longer games will really favor strategic play and not just luck.
Djinn just needs to be moved back to 6. Even if they fix the "bug" that allows him to grab minions above your tier level, I still think he's probably too good.
TBH, they probably need to entirely rework elementals. They do everything that every tribe can do, and they do it better.
I'd nerf Sellemental as it is uncontested best tier 1 minion right now. Just pure power creep over deck swabby, murloc and cat.
Token should be 1/1 and instantly spawn on the board upon selling so you don't get to play 2 elementals for 1 gold and you lose some board power when selling it.
Maybe swap wildfire elemental and crackling cyclone tiers too.

Sellemental feels like the... quietly OP card at the moment. I agree with nerfing it, honestly. a T1 minion should not be an autopick lategame, and it often is, I find.

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game
they OFFICIALLY stated that genie could only give minions of your same tier and below, and they forgot to update the effect
I'm loving it. Last game I had 2 and gave one of them reborn every turn.
This is bad enough to warrant an emergency patch.
Now that everyone is doing this ... there is simply no point to any other strategy.
Even poisonous Murlocs can't beat it --- so what chance do Pirates, Beasts or Demons have? It's zero.
Totally game ruining.
Ya it's broken bad actually.

Also Bartendotron was retired.
Appreciate that thanks.

such salt much BM.
Just played George and got second. Lost to a monster Djinn Elemental build.
I think I judged him too early before I really started knowing the cards and game enough to be half decent.
