Is there any reason Blizzard haven't got some kind of reward structure on battlegrounds? Like surely, this redoing of the rating system was a opportunity for them to look at the BGs rating, and say it will be comparable to your ladder ranking, and if BGs rating happens to be higher you get rewards in the same way.
Like I dunno, 10k for legend equivalent rewards or something. And no need for Blizzard to double up so it's not like they'd be giving away more packs, just freeing up those of us who want to play BGs to do just that and not constructed.
I was 7k before reset. Now once I hit 5k I started earning 'normal' MMR (no more +300 per win) and for now I struggle a bit to climb further, games are a lot different than before elementals...
Since the recent patch (18.4.2) I dropped from 11.2k rating all the way down to 9.2k rating.
IMHO this patch sucks big time. While I'm not a big fan of Kripp, I have to fully agree with what he said about way too much damage and high-rolling. As it currently stands, you either get lucky right away or you're just wasting your time. I think I'll take a break from playing for a month or so, as I don't want to see my rating fall even further.
off-topic rant: I'm not sure what Blizzard is trying to do. Not only do they keep introducing more unbalance, they refuse to fix the immense lag issue so many are experiencing, they also refuse to fix game breaking bugs like Nomi sometimes not buffing. Instead of fixing it they introduce more 'bugs', like genie highrolling above-tier minions.
I'm out for now until this nonsense is fixed and balanced.
Much more than I should lol. I played a lot when Khadgar token murlocs were a sound strategy. That was my single favourite thing in battlegrounds. These days Khadgar stuff is not reliable so I just play casually. In my opinion, the battlegrounds have been getting worse until the latest balance patch, which was decent.
6k pre-reset; was capped at 5k last patch, jumped up to 5.6k post-patch. Feels better with it slightly slower, plus as I don't have the Tavern pass, nerfing a few OP Heroes will always help me.
Crossed 10000 K for first time ever @ 10048. Played as Lord Barov, won possibly all of the early game bets helped a bit by the fact most of the bets seemed to involve a recent opponent so I knew if they were strong or weak.
Finished 2nd behind a Rafaam with 2 Genie and a board that would require a cameo appearance from a Gentle Megasaur and a Holy Mackerel to beat.
I'm not happy with the Genie meta we are in, but setting that aside the rest of the experience favors "big brained play" right now.
2-3 games ago I used George The Fallen who got horrific tavern rolls and I still forced out a 3rd place by putting divine shields on my subpar minions and not leveling much. It was a board of trash and not a single poisonous and never tripled, but when every trash minion has divine shield, you don't take much damage until the late game. And my trash did make it to the late game.

I know what you mean about the meta (even though I'm notably lower rated); just piloted a Shudderwock to 2nd, which probably wouldn't have been possible in the previous patch. Feels like there's a lot more game with the 'bad' heroes in a slower meta, favouring gold hoarders like me who ain't buying the pass (though still some very strong heroes like Omu/milihouse). Do have a fondness for George, though hitting zero poisonous and still 3rd is impressive!
Genuinely surprised to see people complaining about Djinni; not had a single TT6 from it, so presumed it was capped sensibly. Adds variance that's hard to play around, not good design. Djinni's mainly been useful for feeding my 'Domo/Nomi buff chain, honestly, with the odd free triple or +1/+1. Strong but fair without TT6 shenanigans, IMO, but overall elementals are just generally stronger than others ATM. Lategame you are not beating a Garr without poison.
5.5k on both NA and EU. 7.5k before the last patch. I can't stand this fast meta shit. You either highroll the shit out of the game or you die pretty quickly. If you miss the first T5 discover, you're pretty much fucked. Terrible to play atm

Hi, so after the reset, how far did you get so far? I'm over 8500 and it's the highest so far (even before reset I think).
6.7k :(
My highest was 8.5k pre-reset.
I used to be at 9.2k, which is my highest.
I am climbing back, currently at 8.2
24x LEGEND Personal top: 79. dec. 14 - Mid hunt, jun. 15 - Grim patron, july 15 - Combo Druid, aug. 15 - Control priest, sep. 15 - Secret paly, oct. 15 - Handlock, nov. 15 - Reno mid paly, dec. 15 - Mech Mage, jan 16 - Bran Zoo, feb 16 - Freeze Mage, may 16 - COTW Hunter, sep. 17 Control DK Warlock, may 18 Shudderwock sham, jun. 18 Shudderwock Sham, mar.19 Clone Priest, apr.19 Bomb war, mai 19 Bomb war, april 20 Q Druid, June 20 DH, July 20 Priest cube + Wild Q mage, Aug20 Beast Druid, sept Rogue, oct DH
972 xD i play it ~2 times a week.
The balance patch shifted the game from "your hero decides if you win" to "your decisions are major factor in how you perform".
I've gone from 8K to 9.5 K since the patch and I can usually claw my way to 5th with a bad hero.
Will ratings will be reset again? I'm wondering whether it's worth climbing
7k. Was 10k before reset.
8k before 7.5k now but still going up.

It sucks that they didn't do this.

I just hit 10K+ before the reset. Now i am 8,5K.
10k, peaked 12k before reset. I have played with Kripp, Kibler, and Slysssa.
Never played a single game.
Take a walk on the wild side...

Wow, that's pretty cool! I would love to defeat Kripp or Kibler. What's your total time spend on battlegrounds?
