Im stuck at 6000 mmr. I cant gain anything above it. All my loses yield more points than all of my wins. Like this morning I played at least 10 games. I made top 2 once. Rest were all above 5. Many 7 and 8th places.
I just cant roll well enough to be competitive. I have played intensively for at least 3 days now. At least 25+ games. I have not, and I repeat, have not received a single Rag or Nomi discover for 3 days strait. What are the odds for that? Mostly I am just offered the worst at tier 5 such as Direhorn and Junkbot. No greater luck at tier 6 either.
So how am I suppose to climb under these circumstances? It has nothing to do with skill. Nothing. How come some streamers are climbing easily?
It looks like the system parks some players in predetermined brackets. I can offer no other explanation. Its not skill variance.
25 games isn't that much, and the hero pool is pretty big, with a lot of them being considered bad right now.
You need a LOT of data even suggest that rigging is going on.
One of the things good players do so well is getting the most out of bad situations. Bad rolls happen to everyone, but there is a lot of skilled involved to get more 4ths and less 8ths.
When you bare tilted, you are also less likely to get that 1st place when luck goes your way.
that happens to everyone, even the streamers. i saw enough of them losing hundreds in a few hours. but like slyde already said, there you'll see the skill involved. but sometimes you can't do anything and just get 8th place
If you get a crap hero, a crap opener and are playing against a stacked group of heroes there is a trick.
Concede.
You were going to finish in 8th place anyway, but by conceding you can start another game and save the 10 to 12 minutes of being someone's punching bag and be in a game where you actually have a shot at finishing Top 4.
Just because this sounds sarcastic and is sarcastic doesn't mean it isn't true.
Do you really think you were going to win the game where you were Queen Wagtoggle and had to buy the Wrath Weaver on Turn 1?
I personally think that elementals and the new hero's are so imbalanced that I just don't want to play it till I see nerfs here on heartpwn. Every game I've played I got 2nd place just to get crushed by elementals with 3 times my stats and divine shields, it wasn't fun, so I stopped. For me it's not about gaining points anymore, but when you have a crazy game, get all pirates to golden with crazy rolls and then a 300 hp tavern tier 2 elemental just crushes your attack and a 100 attack divine shield mega windfury butchers your defence, that's not fun for me
When I get trash heroes I just press concede, rating does not give anything anyway, but playing crap heroes feels so bad against Jandice, Ragnaros, Omu and others.
I've capped out at 5k; had a small streak up to 5.2, but pretty welded to 5k. A metagame where two losses in the midgame will knock you out is really, really high variance; add in that I'm not paying for the pass and there we are. Still decent to play, even if my last Rag game was 8th because seriously, some of these options are just bad, or I've just had a game with no TT2 cards offered on T3 without a reroll, followed by a T4 2 bad T1s, a decent T2, and a ghoul. Yay, ~30 by T5 and thus one hit away from dead. Variance is the mode - arguably the game - and particularly with triples (which are a high variance thing to even get)? It happens.
I played 3 games STRAIGHT with Reno. I got offered Reno 3 times in 3 games.
The weird thing was I got 8 place twice and 1st place after that easy.
Those first 2 games I was a punching bag to everyone. Bob Tavern was shit. Bad minions, no triples, bad curve. People were just stomping over me and I couldn't do anything about it.
Well, do you have perks so you can choose between 4 heroes ? 2 hero choice is pretty bad.
Rag and Nomi are very popular now so it's less probable to get one if you are not tiering up fast since their minion pool is depleted quickly by everybody since elementals are new, fun and strong.
My strategy to get one is to make sure I have a triple ready for turn 7 when I go to tier 4 and buy the triple. From the discovery you will get a very strong minion like Nomi, Lil Rag, Bran, Baron, Hoggarr to build a strategy around them.
A second strategy is to play Tess Graymane and to use hero power and get the one bought by your opponent.
The game has changed a lot. The current meta is like "Oh you didn't highroll? Here take some casual 15+ damage the following 2 turns each, but don't die lol". I die a lot between turn 8 and 10 not even having a bad start or anything like that, but because there are always somehow 2-3 players with insane highrolls, while at the same time I can't hit a triple or if I do so it's way too late or the minion I get is rubbish. Besides that I keep losing rounds where I'm at least 60%+ favorite WAY too often for a couple of months now. This game needs to be fixed ASAP.
And yea obviously rag and jandice need to be nerfed. Their average placement is ridiculous.

Maybe elementals made it too snowball-y. People don't even pickup +2/+2 battlecry buffs because it's not worth it anymore.
Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game

I mean, you can just stop playing for a bit?

3rd game I almost had a perfect game.
