A lot of ppl have been calling them OP but i honestly find them mid tier build at best. I have been crushing them with double amalgadon murloc builds in high MMR. They face the same weakness as Pirates, they have no protection against poison and their scaling is useless if you run into poison divine shield amalgadons. I guess they are better than Pirates because they have better scaling but they have a lot of the same weaknesses. I still find Murloc and Dragon builds better than Elementals. I think people will eventually realize that they have been overrating them, exactly the same thing that happened when Pirates were added.
They are better than pirates because it is much easier to transition to them and because they have a minion with divine shield.
They do share the same weakness. The usual Golden Selfless + Poison stuff will kill them.
All in all, i think they have replaced what Demons and Mech used to be a few updates ago. A safe way to top 4, with a chance of getting first if you sprinkle in some luck and creativity.
P.S. What I think is underrated atm is menagerie with Lil' Rag as the buff engine.
In the same way that folks always said "Pirates are over-rated, just look at Macaw!" when Macaw wasn't a pirate, a lot of the strength of Elementals is being conflated with the strength of Ragnaros.
As to Elementals, I'd agree that a strong dragon board or a strong murloc board is probably better. But! Elemental boards right now seem a lot easier. I can't recall the last time I've seen a strong murloc or dragon board in one of my games, or even a good beast one. They just require too much time at high-tier, and Elementals just seem faster.
Of course double-amalgadon is going to beat stuff. It's also two tavern six minions. I don't see many games go late enough for someone to have double dons.

Man you got it all right, I think atm the exodia build is menagerie with a poison murloc, one maexenna, one little rag, one spore and golden selfless. Nothing can beat that?

Probably a hair.
