To me the worst time was when we had an amalgam neutral minion, that made me quite until devs removed that minion. Though patch with pirates was close, with cannons and also with forced murlocs all the time, I am glad both dino and cannon were removed. Currently I only have a problem with Jandice and Ragnaros, if devs will nerf both of them, it will be the best time in BGs I ever had.
Just like with most games or game modes: vanilla is the best and it only gets worse from there on. I'm still enjoying BGs but to me it feels like it's less fun with every patch.
btw: the most annoying thing still is that you play some opponents several times while you don't play others at all. They need some kind of round robin system. Fixing the lags would also be very appreciated.
If you used to place top 4 75% then you are the best player that ever played. Just sayin
Sorry that's probably an inflation. Winrate was definitely on the upside of 50% though. Placing 5-8 was a rarity. Though I don't think I played enough to get games with people at my skill level.
Played all day after the new patch. It's still same old shit. Elementals OP. Damage cap still needed. And matchmaking has to change to the point where you cant constantly go up against the top opponents over and over.
The Megawindfury tier 3 elemental has to go. They tried nerfing it by taking out the one Elemental that grants mega-windfury but its not good enough. All day same shit. Huge OP Elementals wrecking your entire board by getting off 3-4 attacks before you can do anything.
Certain heroes are lightyears beyond the others. Same one's always top 4'ing my lobbies. I'd say 2-3 players always top 4 with Elementals. Zzzzzzzz...it really goes without saying that there is a problem when all the top people are usually Elemental builds.
Pirates and Demons cannot compete with Elementals and need HUGE buffs if this Elemental shit is going to stay the same.
Another issue that I think is occurring that isn't getting talked about much is this: The Sell-emental is making the early game way too strong. Between Sellemental, the Murloc token generator, and the Beast token generator, it's just too easy for certain heroes to have too strong of an early game. It's just too easy in general now for everyone to have 3 minions on 5 gold because of the token generators. And if you're one of the unlucky ones that doesnt have early scaling or 3 minions on 5 gold...welp...your game is probably over.
Love the game, but it's complete trash right now. Change is necessary.

The availability of easy token minions may make Millhouse Manastorm the #2 hero behind the absurdly broken Chenvalla after reliable stats are out.
If I play Millhouse and don't have 7 minions by the 6 mana turn, it is a shock. More than a shock, it's next to impossible.
If Millhouse can just buy token units, free refreshes and level up discounts and the 3 gold Pirate, he has no downside plus a monsterous early game.

Maybe you haven't played since the update that just hit.

I did and? Also hsreplay stats take buff into consideration and still show it in the bottom tier. Not sure if it's still that bad, maybe a tad bit better, but to call it broken or absurdly broken? Wtf dude? It was a complete trash before, now it's just less trash.
Geoff said: Wtf dude? It was a complete trash before, now it's just less trash.
They say the meta game is different depending on MMR, and is why HSReplay separates stats by MMR level.
My MMR is currently 9115 and what works at that MMR bracket may not hold true at your MMR level.
You are heavily overestimating the mmr factor. Sure, there are differences. But not to an extent, where something that is "absurdly broken" on a high mmr is trash on lower. Also, you should keep in mind the fact that something absurdly broken on a high level, should only be even more broken and practically an auto-win on lower mmr, no the other way around.
One more thing is that stats take into consideration both high and low mmr - so if you say that something is absurdly broken on a certain level, but trash on another, then on average it should be somewhere in the middle - not on the bottom.
Chenvalla is another example here. He's the opposite of Bartendotron. You don't randomly level up, you sit back and watch the minion pool and map it out in your head during combat, usually with the board frozen.
Yeah definitely Flurgal too. Flurgal and Lord Barov are incredible heroes in the hands of a skilled player, but boy are both of them a PITA to play.
With Lord Barov, you have to bet first and see if there is an obvious winner and also sometimes wait to see if either player levels up before completing the bet. And THEN you have to do the rest of your turn with the time remaining.
Flurgal depends on Tidehunter 2/1 murloc pair for hero power. If your opening minions has no Tidehunter -- and statistically you usually don't have it, and there is no 2/3 Rockpool Hunter sometimes you actually have to go Turn 1 playing no minions for Tavern Refreshes.
The first several turns for Flurgal can be a royal PITA. You also have to decide when to level up to 2 knowing Tidehunters are easy to get when you are Tier 1 and harder to get when you are Tier 2. If you don't get any Tidehunters, you'll start taking poundings and even then you usually only stabilize after Tavern Tier 4.
Its not the worst no. Worst was pirates meta with Eudora and hooktusk tearing apart lobbies with the tier 6 murloc. Lost some 1500 mmr that one period.
Mechs and demons desperately need an overhaul. Dragons early game also needs to be addressed.

it is not the worst but right now game elevates too fast if you have a couple of bad rolls you most likely to lose game.
I've gotten to the point where I can T4 most lobbies, even with bad starts. But I eagerly await the changes.
Battlegrounds is 💯 % RnG always was always will be you people saying there was skill choices are wearing some rose covered glasses.
Poker is just rng what cards you get, so everyone is equally good?
Skill isn't about individual games, it's about influencing all games in a direction that is above average. So yes, skill matters overall.
Congrats on buffing elementals, smart devs, oh well its free, watever

There are major differences between low MMR and high MMR, especially with heroes.
4 heroes that kick butt in the hands in hands of a high MMR player: Lord Barov, George The Fallen, Chenvaala, Millhouse Manastorm.
Lord Barov's secret is you can lose most of your bets and the hero power is still actually a major advantage because "burst turns" matter more than average turns. George The Fallen requires developing a rough game plan on the 7 mana turn based on what you've got. Millhouse Manastorm requires patience and risky plays and acquiring the right combination of minions when you "make your move".
Chenvalla is another example here. He's the opposite of Bartendotron. You don't randomly level up, you sit back and watch the minion pool and map it out in your head during combat, usually with the board frozen.
I'd add Frugrl to the above list

the current state is poisonous lol
Great art can never be created without great suffering.
