I am just feeling totally helpless in BG right now. My choices do not matter what so ever. They only matter in so far as how fast I will get kicked out of a game at placement 7 och 8. I can have the best possible lineup offered and still get knocked out for 20+ damage even with a strong top tier hero.
Before I can hit tavern 5 I am usually down to 10-20 health. Game just doesn't feel like a game anymore. Feels more like a slotmachine than it ever has.
From 3000 to 9200 this haven't changed. I'm going elementals only since elementals added and it simply works since they are op, 9/10 the first is elementals as well.

This is just not true. No matter the meta, if you are consistently on the bottoms, it means you are consistently bad. I do not like this meta either, but I am still cracking top 4 almost every game. Granted my MMR isn't too high yet - around 5k, but that's just due to time constrains. Should I play more, I would be higher.
Yes, there is an element of randomness. A huge one. But it shouldn't make you end up last often. Yeah, you can't win them all. But in my opinion being in top 4 at least 6/10 games is a must if you consider yourself a solid player. Higher placings - yeah, this is down to luck.
What I do not personally like about the game now is that there is so much to do every time in the late game and animations are getting progressively longer, so that a situation, when I don't even spend my entire gold, don't buy everything I want, don't freeze the board, don't correct the positioning are way too often as for my liking nowadays.
Currently 6800 rating... most games I have no issues getting to top 4 minus a couple of fringe scenarios. If your flipping your whole turn looking for triples... you will just lose. Remember, if you have a triple wait til tier 4/5 to pick it up and get a tier 5/6 reward. Your really looking for Nomi, Djinn, Brann or maybe even Mama Bear. With these choices by 8-9 gold your in good shape to make top 4 everytime. Even weak synergies will get you to top 4.. ie, death rattles and that 4/2 beast. All you need to do is figure out how to get buffs on your minions each turn. When you buff your minions more than everyone else, you will the round. Scaling stats is key to survival
I like that some heroes who used to not be great are extremely good now. Reno being able to make a gold nomi, rag, garr or djinni makes him much more playable. Sky cap kragg was always ok, except being able to skip tier 4 now is extremely good, making him much better. Toki and galakrond have the same benefit of getting the t5/t6 elementals sooner.
It is true that elementals are the strongest build right now, but they can be beat by other poison teams or just bigger teams. Games are faster, so early decisions matter more. Sometimes this means you can’t help but start out behind everyone when getting matched against alakir or lich king. However, it’s important to keep the basics. Double buy turn 4 and 5 any t2 minions with bigger stats. Don’t fall behind tavern tiers. Try to triple turn 6 and 7, but don’t spend too long hunting triples on tier 4. Watch pro players helps a lot too, there might be mistakes you are making or a hero that has an interaction that you haven’t thought of.
Elementals are broken. Battleground is only an elemental searching otherwise you lose. Who is more fortuned in the elemental searching will win.
- Dragons are good only at the end if you find an early Kalicgos. Dragons suck early and middle game
- Pirates are garbage
- Mech are generally bad. Sometimes can be good but they don't growth, so in the late game suck
- Beasts are strong in the early game and in the late game with the build macao but you need a lot of cards, so the build is difficult to realise (and elementals in late game will generally piss you in the head with the divine wind fury elemental)
- Demons suck, they are strong only in the early game
- Murlocs are good but they need Brann otherwise they suck
- Managerie is good only with Brann
- Elementals are easy to make them bigger, they have a lot of cards to growth, divine shields and wind fury . They are also good in early, middle and late game
I have played extensively last couple weeks and the game is a pure roller coaster - no matter 5 or 10k, if you fail to get fast triple during 8-9g turns you will barely survive the damage spikes from the ppl that get it.
The whole current game mode is decided by if you can find a triple on your tier 4 turn, and what t5 you get from it. No triple? GG top 4 is the best you can get, bad t5 discover? GG top 4 is the best you can get.
Elementals are basically the worst designed set of cards ever in this mode, this is even dumber than the broken heroes they released and they caused the 'steamroll meta': you either highroll, and do it fast, or take 2x 20+ damage on turn 8-10 and die. If someone found an early Nomi, your only chance is to either find a brann and get lucky with murlocs and amalgam rolls or do some dumb cheese strat with selflesses and hope you find a baron.
I've commented before on how bad/absent Blizzard's playtesting is nowadays; but this time around i seriously can only conclude that they have stoned badgers testing their stuff..... For people saying: it's still beta: Yeah it is, and it is also a paid mode with the battlepass etc, where you should be expecting some quality.

Elementals are too reliable because high tier eles are literally better version of low tier ones (party ele -> Rag, molten rock -> Garr, statis ele -> tavern tempest) so you're never missing your tools you just upgrade them.
Also Sellemental should drop 1/1 token that locks out Sellemental itself from reappearing in the minion pool, it's just insanely easy to triple the droplets when everyone is putting Sellementals back in the pool.

My favorite is seeing people triple on turn 7 and getting not one, but two t5 discovers off of a golden sellemental and a single token. I was just in a lobby where someone did that and got nomi and djinn, that kind of power spike is hard to come back from.
It's elementals, djinn too strong at 5.. Posting two warbands out of my last three games, so..... getting bored a little bit. But still, I love this game.

Go Elementals or lose.

heroes are ok to me... the problem is: ELEMENTALS.

They are always the easiest choice
elementals need huge nerf, whoever pulls them off first wins, it has no counterplay.
lil ragnaros should be replaced it buffs so easily if you find early game the game is yours unless some crazy murloc going on.
I have played extensively last couple weeks and the game is a pure roller coaster - no matter 5 or 10k, if you fail to get fast triple during 8-9g turns you will barely survive the damage spikes from the ppl that get it.
i see a murloc meta and mega windfury meta.
if u find one of three of this:
-murloc with poison
- mega windfury
- bronze guardain
you basically win

This x 1000
You couldn't have said it better.

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game

Look at the pic both games ended so fast that I was able to raise stats only this much despite double golden lil rags consecutive elemental wins.
This is not normal they should balance it again as soon as possible.
All these points I agree with 100%. It's pretty sad because I love the game mode, but elementals killed it for me
yeah, I can't wait to see elementals rotating as other tribes (it worked with murlocs but now we have two banned tribes every run)
it was fun for a while but now we are ready to let them go every 3 - 4 games, I guess :)
Mimsy Were The Borogoves
Almost every Jaraxxus i meet in lobby goes Elementals and a lot of them wins the entire game. That sums up the current state of Battlegrounds.
