You know 5000 MMR is dumpster MMR and you are playing against all bad players, right?
At 5000 MMR, the players do all sort of goofy things that make your head spin like play Ysera and stay at level 2 getting tons of fire-breather triples.
Feels like there was no change in the game (murloc wise)
Kripp liked murlocs as they were pretty much the only viable 'late game transition' for a possible/likely 1st place win, leading to a slightly higher skill-cap to get the most from the strategy.
However even he knew how frustrating it was to be on receiving end of an unbeatable divine/poison build that clearly had been thrown together in a round or two, rather than built over the course of the game - it was straight up OP for claiming 1st places . I've never heard him be honest about it like that(maybe he was and I missed it?), probably becasue he knows how to work his viewers and big himself up, but whatever.
The problem with murlocs was how fast you could pivot into them not that they were unbeatable if you got the right amount of buff and poison triggers without being dead before turn 11.
He clearly said that a murloc-nerf was absolutely necessary, even if he always enjoyed playing this build. What is the point of accusing other people of some kind of filth? For me it´s disgusting.

Arrow meet target. For OP it's more like pinning the tail to the donkeys face, couldn't even make a good ass.
The problem for BG now is that it's so heavily depended on what hero you got at the beginning, with a good hear you don't need much skills to be top 4. On the other hand, if you end up with a weak one, unless you have very good luck, otherwise it is better to concede and start the new one.
