Now I'm 6500 back again and I think I know what was (is) the issue: game speed. Current meta works in such a way that if you are lucky enough and can seize the opportunity, you will survive (get an early Pack Leader + Rat and you've just secured yourself safe pass to late game). If you can't do it though (because RNG or whatever), well, try your luck in another game.
Moreover I think that it's no longer worth to think about the late game too early. It's way better to just fortify your board with anything cheesy and wait for the next occasion (like Mama Bear or Baron). I also know now that some builds can only work with certain champions (e.g without Brann or Shudderwock it's good idea to stay away from murlocs or pirates without Patches).
Lower-ranked players tend to overlook opportunities and focus too much on lower tavern tiers, so it's just more fun to play against them. You can try more fun builds and the game won't punish you immediately for being unlucky with low-rolls. I know it's not very fair to those players, but I fell victim to it myself (probably many times). Once I saw video on YouTube where some Russian streamer with 11K rating was playing against me (5900 rank back then) on his smurf account... Heck, even Kripp is doing this pretty often and the reason is the same: playing against lower ranking than your own is better and more varied fun, not repetitive grind.
If Blizzard fixes the game balance and adds a ranking system similar to normal HS (with stars and all that), then the problem should be minimized.
I will say this, the meta right now is tough, but it rewards decision making, clever minion positioning and calculated risks.
lol what decision making are you talking about? this is pure RNG I had 6600 rating on EU, now lost 3 games in a row, 7-8 place, totally crushed by Power Spikes 15-20 dmg in one turn, why? because RNG how can is this even possible on turn 7 this board? I had zero triples while all in the lobby had at minimal 2 triples and as I noticed early triples are game changing, so it's not decision making it's pure RNG
The biggest problem in this game right now is the possibility to take more than 15 dmg in one turn. I think it should be capped to have at least 1 more chance to come back.

Rat Pack is probably the biggest offender in the early game for taking extra damage. Packleader let's it be buffed so easily now often it's going to proc 4 rats. Late game having coilers or imp mama proc some high teir minions is reasonably ok as it's heavily rng what you get. I suppose the only thing that they could do is allow them to only spawn minions from your current tier or below. This then stops getting one of these early summoning a couple 6 drops.

Get used to it. In this meta you either highroll with strong midgame minions, either you die before turn 11, simple as that. Unlike some other autobattlers, Battlegrounds doesn't offer you any comeback tools, so if you're behind you have to pray to RNG gods. otherwise you probably won't catch up.
Yes there is a match difficulty modifier the longer you play.
Noticeable when you're playing daily for several hours.
Halo and many other games have done it to players.
Hearthstone's card draw and random events will chance the longer you play.
Been playing near 8 hours a day since 2014, To the point spectators are so confused why every match is hard stacked against me in random events n card draws.
Take a break for 2 weeks n i will very noticeably draw the perfect cards n have random situations turn in my favour, after the 2nd or 3rd game its right back at it.

I'm glad to hear you are adjusting.

Always expect the unexpectable!
