Then come up with a solution that will be fair for everyone instead of being an ass. You can make people who fought themselves previously have fixed order of attack (if in the last battle you attacked first, now they do). But in fights between players who haven't battled before there's no other solution than a coin flip.
If you are player A and fight player B, C and D, each for the first time, and every time you attack second, it's fair.
Just further developing this idea
it could be useful if 2 players each are assigned A, B, C, or D at the start of the game, which alternates each round, A moving to B and B moving to C, C to D and D to A
A and C always attack first, and that way battles could swing like tides
Also the less minions rule could still apply here which adds some earlier strategy?
help me further develop this and then blizzard can actually have some useful feedback

I'm assuming of course Illidan would superscede ALL of those...then again if you going first is that predictable it would almost make Illidan's ability borderline meaningless

I agree that structured alternations are more fair than coin flips. It is not that hard to make sure everyone attacks first equally throughout the game. If you attack first 2 times in a row, you should know you won't get a 3rd time, and if there are 2 players left you take turns.
Battlegrounds is based on increasing your rating over time. If you consistently play above average you'll increase your rating.
Going first 4 times out of 10 in one game isn't going to affect your rating across 100 games. Just think you have the same chance to go first every time in one game as you do to go second 😉.
Going first or not seems to only be an issue for some when they don't go first. It probably never registers with them when they go first and win.

One more thing is that people tend to forget that Illidan guarantees going first. Heck, not only going first, but having two attacks before opponent even starts. And yet Illidan is considered a bottom tier hero. Yeah, this thread is typical bias. Someone lost a game due to going second and they think it's an issue, while it's not.

hell not only does he get 2 first attacks immediately but his first attacks go before other start of battleground effects like Nef's fire and whelps...by the logic of this thread he should be ultimate top tier
Ironically, Bliz rigging things to ensure you go first sometimes would be *more* like a casino, not less. Slot Machines and VLTs have fixed rates of payouts, and will ensure enough small wins to string someone along, to trick them into gambling more.
The main reason it's OK in a casino* and not in HS? Because with these these casino machines a player is only ever playing against the house, and not another player. The main reason HS shouldn't rig games is that there's always a player on the other end. Getting knocked out of a BGs match because you've been targeted to get an auto-second would be wicked $#!##y. Too many people already believe the game is rigged, and actually-rigging-it would be bad.
Folks asking for such a system would as likely be on the losing end as the winning end of any such scheme.
* In a lot of ways, it isn't OK. Casinos deliberately targeting addictive tendencies in gamblers is scum-of-the-earth stuff. Feels even scuzzier when state governments do it, IMHO, with scratch lotto tickets.
I don't think having any scenario that can lead a player to have a guaranteed first attack (other than Illidan) is a good idea, since it would allow the player to adjust the board based on that knowledge.
However I think tweaking the mechanics so that you are more likely to attack first based on your previous attacks would be a good idea. So, for example when there are two players left, if you attack first in the current round, you would be less likely to attack first in the next.
I think the solution is to create tech minions that gives "priority points". Then the first player would not be chosen randomly, but according to the priority total score. (except if they are equal)
so it is you?

You might already know this, but the player with more minions always attacks first.
Under a statistical point of view this balances out again and again, since it is a 50/50. so it's as fair as possible.
Gnomeferatu will burn you down!
Maybe a solution: Coin flip until two players face each other with one having more first attacks than the other. it would all even out

you guys lack imagination.

Actually the one that first attacks is the one with the most stats of all the minions together.
so no randomness here you just need to get more stats, and you will be the first to hit.
Easiest fix. Too bad they don't give a shit
