People complain NON-STOP! It's not even a thing yet. Maybe (probably?) they'll implement it...we don't even know.
I also like how everyone is clairvoyant. "If they implement this, their already small player base is going to get smaller. A bunch of people will just quit." Where are you getting these numbers? In YOUR opinion, this will happen.
Maybe you'll quit, but it doesn't mean a bunch of other people will. It seems a lot of people, on these forums at least, are unhappy (or just like to complain) with the game. If you are, then quit! You are not forced to play.
I get so tired of reading the same boring shit in all the posts. If you are not getting enough as F2P, then spend some money for all the hours of play you get. If not, then stop complaining. "I don't get enough free stuff." :sigh:Ga
Ah heres a novel idea. If u dont like to post complaining bout the game then dont answer it and dont participate in in.
U dont account that there are other games in this world that may have a similar thing implemented.
HS playerbase dont just play one card game and a lot of us know what happened to rest of the games that did similar things.
Game isnt forcing u to spend money to play it but heres a kicker F2P player base is as much as important as p2p players in this ecosystem of a online game. F2p is a majority of players that u will encounter in the servers since u know they are playing a game to get some rewards to get some cards.
"I get so tired of reading the same boring shit in all the posts" go offline. Thats simple.
U cant force anyone to spend money on a f2p card game unless u make it grindy-er that that is now. Which would happen if this gets implemented.
"In YOUR opinion, this will happen" . Why yes chinabot i can have an opinion but so can u. Main difference will be that i can take the shit coming my way because of it.
Please let this be in addition to quests. Quests themselves are basically my only source of gold as I'm a really casual player. Imagine getting punished even more for not playing a lot.
Sry bud as it stands right now this thing would replace "normal" quests. I.E they are geting removed.
I personally don't mind the implementation of a battle pass. I find the current reward system extremely boring. How many people have gotten the quest to play 3 games as a class they don't play and then have just gone to Tavern Brawl to queue up 3 afk games? I do this all the time and that's just terrible. And actually, the new way of 9k capped experience per week could be a great thing. We don't know yet how long it would take to earn it, but right now to complete a quest usually requires about 3 games...maybe less if you're hoarding them and completing them once your queue is full. Under the current system, if you want to maximize your rewards, you need to login every single day to at least reroll 50g quests and every 3 days to clear your quest log. If instead I could grind it all out in one day under a battlepass system, I would consider it a major improvement, as long as I could earn my max 9k in about 20 to 30 games.
However, like everybody else I can do the math on the rewards and see that's it way worse in both how stingy it is and distribution of rewards. 4k max gold to start a new expansion? You wouldn't even have all the rares available to you. Clearly a huge, huge nerf for the f2p player and I don't see how it wouldn't drive a lot of them away. Even the paid player loses out...they use free resources as well. And the paid tract doesn't look terribly attractive either. 30 bucks is what they suggest in their survey for that. But nobody is looking for something at that price point...we've already got $20 adventures and $50 pre-orders. F2p, but pay to play curious players are looking for something at a $5 to $10 price point.
sounds like hearthstone is going pay to win. If you are a paid member with the battle pass it says you get an extra 2 legendaries and epics. and an extra 18 packs.
I also like how everyone is clairvoyant. "If they implement this, their already small player base is going to get smaller. A bunch of people will just quit." Where are you getting these numbers? In YOUR opinion, this will happen.
Many people love to pretend they have a very vast knowledge about everything in life (including video games :P), but truth is they don't know shit! XD
I don't like it if it replaces my daily quests gold since i am a very casual player and i would hate to see that. I got soo much used to earn gold this way i just can't see it being better in a different way. If however they made the pass rewards on top of the regular quests i would consider it and many will.

this way will force you to play daliy to keep up the old way you just need to log in each day then do daliy each 3th day

I mean, this sucks rigth now, when should i start complaining?, when it is already live and its to late for a change? because if blizzards announces it, it most likely wont change, and if this is the idea that they announce, it will be a comoplete trash dump over free to play players or those who CANT afford to pay, and other thing is, pay for what?, grinding?, what really pisses me about battle passes is that they litterally demand your time, and if you pay you are basically forced to do it or you will miss "rewards", and in this particulat case, it forces you to play even without paying this bullshit at fisrt glance is made to replace daily quests for a total amount of gold that is less than a half of what a player would farm in 4 months, and the extra packs wont do anything because at first, you opened less packs on the release.
Ok, so I went back and delved into it a bit more. I do think as currently laid out it's more generous then what we currently get. Everybody (myself included) is focusing too much on the upfront gold number. Without a doubt, that part is a nerf...you'd be opening less packs at the start of an expansion and that is the time when a pack has its most value. However, if you add it all up over the 4 months you do get a lot more. 3990 gold, 18 latest expansion packs +14 standard expansion packs. That's already 7190 gold equivalent. Then, you get 2 legendaries, 2 epics and 4 arena tickets. Even if you only count the dusted value of that stuff it's about another 1500g equivalent. While I know it's possible to earn more than 8000g per expansion, I feel like that's probably about right for freebie awards for those that grind out the whole season. You do get a bit more than that under their battlepass proposal. They could maybe be more generous with the number of epics they are handing out, but two legendaries I think is very nice.
Like everybody here, I'm still not sold on what are basically delayed rewards - old standard packs have far less value than current expansion packs, but I'll go ahead and try to take the devil's advocate position on this. By spreading out rewards over an entire season, perhaps you might see a more interesting and diverse meta. Everybody won't be instantly shifting towards the new cards. Paying players of course will have access to everything from the get-go like they always do. Long term f2p players that dust their wild collection will probably see more resources available to them and should be able to eventually play everything they could before. New players that just follow the battlepass will basically be following the most efficient way to spend their resources without having to do as much research on how to spend their resources (although Blizz should think about being more generous with classic packs for newer players). Also, keep in mind the experience system is front loaded...most of the rewards come sooner than later. In the first 3 weeks you're already 1/3 of the way through the chart.
It sounds like the final nail in the coffin honestly. They were already giving f2p players a bare minimum to survive on, and now they're cutting that down to half. But this will hit the paying players as well, a lot of people buy one of the preorders, but they also need the packs from gold in addition, so it can all add up to a sizable collection. With this half of it is gone.
To me it sounds like Activision saying - Let's milk this sucker dry before we pull the plug. I think a lot of people will leave if they go through with this. I know I will. Not immediately, I have enough dust to last me a few expansions, but eventually for sure I wouldn't put up with something like this.
I don't know who they think they're fooling with this horseshit. They're trying to take away your gold, basically.
Maybe I'm not giving it enough thought, but I can't see any problems with this. As long as it doesn't replace quests and is simply an addition to the game, what's wrong with this? I see it as a way for devoted players to get rewarded for playing. Paying is optional. Sure, it"s new, and people clearly aren't a fan of change, but I personally think this would give me a reason to play more.

Hot garbage. Blizzard continues to screw invested players in order to satisfy casuals. Hope it backfires.

i love to see people saying "all this community does is complain!!"
jesus christ, if you dont, they will shaft you even harder. This "pass" will come and you will gladly give them your money for this predatory crap.
its not like hearthstone doesnt make enough money as it is, they always need to milk these clowns further. and they do

You people love to call others sheep when it is convenient, but when shit happens you are the first ones to hide in the crowd.
clueless accusations, keep it up.
Just proving me right
"Proving me right"? Do you think I care about the opinion of others? Do you think I care about the opinion of the sheep? Give me a break...
read your response to me, and tell me you don't "have an opinion" go ahead.
or you having trouble with English? i can answer you in Español if its easier for you.
Wow. Nice racist response coming from a 12 year-old(?). I'm guessing your age based on your multiple uses of "suck my D"...very mature.
