You simply need to RNG your RNG against their's RNG's RNG... RNG!
More seriously though, there's not much you can do I guess, since no amount of skill can overcome low rolls. You just need raw power to survive early / mid game and if tavern gives you rubbish, then you'll struggle. Even streamer with 10k rank wont win with low rolls against high rolls, especially when playing weak hero with trashy hero power.
BG is very primitive autobattler and unfortunately lacks flexibility. There is no gold accumulation, no stats passing between minions, no items, no spells (with few exceptions like bananas and secrets), not much synergies between different tribes... pretty much nothing.

Do you think this will change with future updates?

Honestly? No. Blizzard's policy is to keep everything simple, because in their minds it's what attracts wide audience. In my opinion however, they confuse simplicity with primitivism and randomness. If you give players more options, your game won't immediately become mind blowing puzzle, requiring IQ above 150. It's something that Riot Games understood a long time ago and that's why they stopped adding to League of Legends very simple champions with a very low entry threshold. Most of new heroes now require good understanding of game mechanics and a lot of practise but it pays off, because It's way better to win/lose because of skill/lack of skill than win or lose because of RNG (and RNG in LoL doesn't matter almost at all). LoL is now 10 years old, but it's still one of the most popular F2P game in the world and it still earns the most money in the F2P market. Blizzard should learn from this.

For me, the simplicity of the Game, was what got me attracted. After, some Games where you need real "Skill" in Form of good APM, and Reaction, it was relaxing to play a BG where you just need some Knowledge and bit of Luck. But after some Month of Playing and a bit of Tryharding, im at the Point where the Game often just feels like playing flip the Coin.... When Blizz Rng says no then its no, hf trying, you get 6th at best then. Some Games are nothing more then a bad Joke, when Blizz RNG wants to troll you.
And I dont expect them, now that the Core Concept stands, too evolve the Game too much from now on, because afterall its HS, and it just lives from its Simplicity. But ofc would be happy if the can proof me wrong here!
I don't think it sucks, I perfectly understand why some people like it, but I don't enjoy it either. Having said that, I don't think its current popularity will last for too long. Eventually, people and even streamers will get tired of it.
I've noticed that there are times I roll really really bad, like turn 6 and I'm at 18 health while 2-3 other players are clearly high rolling.
Quit and move on?
Normally I stay until the bitter end, but if it happens again in the next one or two games I simply quit, immediately. I can tolerate RNG but not always and every single time for 3 hours straight.
One amazing turn in the mid game can be enough to carry you to top 4. Also 7th place > 8th. I used to get so many top 4s playing such a crap i thought I'd be dead last. Heck, even yesterday I played with my friend and at a tier 3 I had such garbage so at that point I told him that I will be last. I was first.
I have one more observation on this topic. Notice what happened to the Millhouse after his last nerf. He used to be god tier before, now he's average at best. Why such a small change (tavern upgrade costs +1 gold) made such a big difference? Because in BG quality beats quantity and now it's apparent even more than ever before.
Millhouse allows you to easily flood the board with lots of minions, but if the quantity does not match the quality, at some point (rather quick) your advantage will be diminished. How can you prevent that? Well, you "only" need to get some good rolls...
If RNG is not on your side in BG, then your situation is difficult. If RNG is not on your side AND you play as Millhouse, then your situation is dire, because your re-rolls costs twice as normal and you have 50% less chance of finding what you are looking for. That's obviously critically bad.
In my opinion this proves, that even cheaper minions (which in theory look super strong) cannot compete with tribe synergies and stats stacking from very early turns. In fact, nothing can. And where do those come from? From RNG of course (tavern rolls and sometimes from hero power). Also that's why skill is not critical factor in this game. Yes, it can help, but only if RNG doesn't get in your way. Otherwise, nothing can be done to overcome it.

Great art can never be created without great suffering.
I don't play Battlegrounds, but I hate bad rolls when playing Warhammer 40k with passion! :P
lol, yeah bad rolls are bad anywhere (I play D&D and those nat 1's are brutal :P)

Esc + concede + scream
I have experienced this same thing.
After being at 9K a couple of months ago, now I'm stuck forever at 7.5k with really wild swings of bad/good games.

Battlegrounds sucks
Keymaster Alabaster come faster

Never concede unless there is absolutely no hope.

Obviously you're not providing adequate offerings to our lord and savior, Yogg Saron.
Yup, that's what I just started doing. /cheers
