With this patch slightly slowing down the pace of the game (1-2 rounds do count) and with other heroes getting nerfed, I think Alexstraza is a sleeper op hero. Assuming you play her properly, and not always rush to Tavern 5 and take a ton of damage in the process, you stand a good chance at picking up really, really, good dragons like Kalecgos, Razorgore, Amalgadon or immediate dragon triples. Obviously I am not saying that she is better than Eudora, but I do suggest trying her out for a spin. What do you guys think? Do you agree with me, or am I overrating her?
The problem is that it's only a small chance that you get the top-tier dragons. You are right that you want to semi-prioritize getting to tier 5 if you are running dragons. The main problem is that her strength as a hero relies entirely on hitting tier 5, and that can't really stand up to the top tier heroes which are fast. However, what I found with Alextrasza is that playing her with her Murlocs (if possible) is better because now with the addition of Amalgadon, you can get a beast on the board, and if it's not, you still get 2 free gold when you rank up and that gives you a better chance of hunting for bugurgle, a triple, or primalfin scout. Then again, all heroes in Battlegrounds are situational. In conclusion, Alextrasza is decent in this new meta as long as you tread carefully.
Alex is an will always be a full RNG hero you can rush to tier 5, play the game normally, go or not go dragons but nothing guarantees you'll get good dragons when you get to tier 5. You can roll 2 shit tier 1 dragons and that means you effectively are playing the entire game without a hero power. Or you could roll a Kale and an Amalgam while having a dragon build.
I mean, it's worth noting that a few decent dragons like Herald of Flame or Cobalt Scalebane could be enough of a bump to stabilize on 5, and continue with some non-dragon build. Likewise tripling something like Dragonspawn Lieutenant for no other reason than to discover a 6. Having one mostly-not-dead turn instead of two dead turns when power-leveling to 5 makes a difference.
Amalgadon seems like a big indirect buff to Alex, too. You'll probably have a few stray minion times while leveling, and instantly getting a few adapts on will make it a pretty strong stand-alone unit.
Anyhow, I think Alex is about as good as her winrate. Per HSReplay, she's 15th, highest in the Tier 3 (with Eudora alone in Tier 1), about 1/3rd of the way through the hero pool. That's pretty solid. She's also got a nearly 30% pick rate, so I don't know if I'd call that "sleeper."

One other thing, Alexstraza, like Dinotamer Brann, Fungalmancer Flurgl, and (to a lesser extent) Reno Jackson, is one of those heroes with a bimodal placement distribution. A lot of heroes will peak at, say, 3rd place, or 5th place, or whatever. These ones have fairly high 8th place finishes, and fairly high first place finishes. They're the ones who can highroll into something totally lights out, or can just fail.
Of those four heroes, Alex has the highest winrate and lowest pick rate. So maybe that is sleeper OP.
The term is glass cannon and Alexstraza has been that since she was added, the only buff she got was the tier 6 amalgam being added to her minion line up and discover pool.
I mean it literally sleeps while every other hero stomps on it... :-(
How good is it really? Discover a golden (buffed) copy seems pretty good. If you survive long enough.
Too bad I can't try it now :/
The problem it has is this: To make any sort of use of the HP, you need to make it to late game. And you need to make it there without any help from OP hero powers buffing cards. So you effectively have no HP for the most part. And then you need someone with decent gold minions to croak, and you need to hope that you that gold minion ends up in the 3 discover options. And you need to hope that the minion you get has some sort of synergy with your build. Maybe.
And by that point, you're 95% of the time, likely dead. :-(

Eudora is not a legit hero unless you think a legit hero power is "Get a Golden Tier 3 minion + a Tier 4 minion on Turn 6 and then again on Turn 10",
She is like AFK except gets better stuff, can keep doing it and also does not need to sit out any turns.
It's a load of garbage.

Kel'thuzad's Kitty is the new sleeper.... /s

Not sleeper OP, but sleeper "good tier" is Malygos. Ppl just have to wake up to his power.
