I think it came out of nowhere. Goldrinn was only unhealthy when combined with macaw which is the real broken card. Otherwise he was the minion that helped beasts survive before they could transition towards mama.
Now beasts have nothing on tier 5. aside from dire lul horn.
I've tried forcing beasts since the patch and it just doesn't work, they have zero early-mid game except from getting lucky with random pack leader+rat combos. The only way beasts have a viable endgame now is on tier 6.. and then you have to just ask yourself "why am I not just playing murlocs"
I think this is fair, I'm surprised they didn't do this to be honest, a 2/8 poison at Tier 5 is reasonable considering there's ways to get a 3/70 Battlemaster at tier 5.
I dont mind Goldrinn being nerfed as long as they also nerf Brann. Like Brann is the most abused tier 5 i dont understand how they havent addressed it yet.
You wanna force beasts? Just do like this: get a t1 pirate and a couple cannons. That's it. Now you can power level to 6 with full hp, get a mama bear and buy any beast, kill the murlocs before they get really angry, guaranteed top 2. Goldrinn or baron are not even necessary, just a good addition if you happen to find them.

Anyone who's played much cannon knows that if you rely on it too much, you're basically rolling the dice and hoping it doesn't get sniped. It's similar to Juggler - except Juggler almost always has demonic taunts in front of it. While you can do that with cannon too, there aren't that many great non-demon taunts early on (ironically, the 3/3 deathrattle 1/1 taunt works well with the cannon too, but wants to be positioned earlier which goes against the taunt purpose). Had a Reno game the other day (best option, ugh) where I opted to golden cannon just to ensure I'd get top 4 - and cannon got sniped within 1-2 enemy attacks every single round. Pretty sure I came eighth, with golden cannon. XD Sure, that's an aberration and usually the cannon is good enough often enough to be OP - but yeah, if you rely on cannon, it certainly isn't auto-top 4.
Before parrot, I would have leaned more towards mama. Now it's all about Goldrinn and Baron synergy to pump up beasts. Goldrinn makes beasts work, simple as that.
If they rework mama a bit to be a tier 5 minion I can see beasts come back as the token tribe it used to be.
On the topic at hand - it's a pretty painful nerf, mainly because it takes away one of those high roll, end game builds. It was a very good build, no doubt, but it's probably the third in line when it comes to how good end game builds are (murlocs, dragons, beasts, pirates) - though second in line as to how easy it was to set up (only tier 3 and tier 5 cards as the core, then any old beast would work, though Hydra, Mama and Maexxna were the best options). Now they're probably 4th best, as both main variants of end game beast builds (Goldrinn and Mama) require T6 cards.
I'm amazed they nerfed Goldrinn and not cannon though. One of those cards is a serious problem, and it's not a beast.
The only good Thing, they did with it, Murlocs have harder time finding Megasaurs now with 2 more 6 drops.
I dont know why they found it so op, because if you look at the Endgame Beast build, you had to triple two 5 Drops, (Baron, goldrynn), to rly Skyrocket the Stats. Something I barely ever managed to achieve. Maybe 1 of them if the game goes long enough.

Reasonable, but I would have buffed he´s stats to mirror mama bear so you can have mom and dad

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game
This was a big mistake, I think this single-handedly makes beasts the absolute worst tribe. Sad change.
Could Maexxna move down to Tier 5 safely to replace Goldrinn?
This is why we need attack limits in Battlegrounds of 10-12 attack.

Mama Bear to Tier 2 to shut up the murlocs forever
wtf was this nerf? are they playing their game themselves or are they just listening to chat tree all the time... I don't understand
Mimsy Were The Borogoves

EVERYONE , GET A BEER!
Just strange. The Nerf, noone asked for.
This nerf came straight out of nowhere, and I don't think many agree with it. Beast as a tribe is now more or less dead.
Goldrinn is the heart of any Beast build. There is no reason at all to consider Beasts now over Murlocs or even Pirates.
The heart of any beast build is mama.

So you highrolled into Goldrinn with your dig.
Highroll plays should never be a reason to nerf a card.
