Goldgrubber basically made Demons obsolete, this is so painful, because it was my favorite tribe before. Pre-pirates every tribe had something going for them and the Demons were basically stats + Juggler. But guess what they introduced in the newest patch? A minion that grows much easier than Wrath Weaver and is generic. And they even introduced Cannon, which is a weaker version of Juggler. Now Demons have literally nothing going for them - sure you can play them and have success, but they don't offer anything you can't accomplish playing some other tribes.
I recently got 1st with Murlocs and I did have a huge Goldgrubber on my side. Why not? I had an open spot and nothing better to play at the time, so I just dropped him.
Got bigger than my fellow Demon opponent's Wrat Weaver. I literally demolished him - granted, probably not because of Goldgrubber, but the fact remains: I was Murlocs, he was Demons, and I was the one with the biggest minion on board and it wasn't even a Murloc.
I am not saying it is an overly problematic card, at least for now, but I really hate his addition.
It is funny how there is not one single reply that has anything to do with the thread
Because it is hardly a competition. If the game itself is quick, your stats on the board simply don't have time to pile up enough. But if you have a game, where you have to play multiple matches in top 4 - how does it make your board more worth sharing actually? The board that crushes the opponents is actually a more impressive feat.
I've had games won with Wrath Weaver being 40/40 and lost with him being 80/80. The board's strength is always relative to the competition.
Mine was 16x/16x, don't remember the exact number.
Months back when i played alexstrasza for 1st time, I rushed tavern 5 and discovered 2x razorgore. Ended up winning with 135/137 golden razorgore. Hence I thought alexstrasza was a very good hero. it was not
I feel like the potential problem with Goldgrubber is that it's really strong as a splash unit. Razorgore can be really strong--but only with Dragons. Wrathweaver and Floating Watcher require a lot of really specific investment in Demons, and while WW can splash some, it still costs a lot of gold each turn. Similar principle for Saurolisk and Salty Looter. Hangry Dragon is cursed and you always lose or tie a few too many matches.
Goldgruber, however, can slot into any comp and grow pretty big and requires no input. Unlike Razorgore, you can build anything, not just Dragons. Unlike Wrathweaver or Saurolisk, you don't have to keep spending each turn's money on the right kind of buff unit. Unlike Hank, you can lose a round or two and still scale up considerably.
Proposed nerf: Gain +1/+1 for each Golden unit, or +2/+2 for each golden Pirate. So as a splash in a non-pirate list, he's a lot worse. He's just as good in a pure Pirate comp.
Ahem ...... Goldgrubber.
So far I got this 195/195 dude, would be nice to see more. Other minions are also welcome btw.
Highroller
Det är bättre med en fågel i hand, än tiger i träd!
BG = 100% rng
Me? I can prove it if you want, I don't have any problem... LOL, just kidding... XD (no, not really XD)
Well, BG is not 100% rng, but yeah, it is by far the game mode that is most influenced by it. Never liked this mode, never will. :(
That’s why everyone is stuck at 4K, or why everyone is at 14k right? I can never remember.
Yeah, also somehow I end being 1st or 8th, never understood that.
its 80% rng and 20%... if you have the time you should get higher and higher over time... ofc the players that play 8 hours each day will be 10-14k
either gold grubber needs to be nerfed, or patches needs a small nerf

Lol, hahaha .... it is not a competition or whatever. I just thought it was fun to see all these huge minions.
@dearcustomer, nice stats, never had a dragon with these kind of stats.
eh.. not the biggest, but I'm pretty sure "the goldest" :)
too bad all others died too fast :/
