It's the fact that murlocs can easily get divine shield that makes them broken. Not really much of anything else they kept nerfing. With this latest patch, it's more obvious than ever. What is the counter to murlocs? Nothing, really. If you have it, you have it. You win. Congrats.
Murlocs could be fun to play but they designed it as an "all or nothing" tribe that centers around megasaur. Just bad. Stop it blizzard. Stop. Just stop.
You are wrong. Divine shield poisonous murlocs lose to deathrattle builds. Sure, they will win if the game goes on for long enough. However, the game almost never goes on for so long that they are unbeatable.

Before murlocs had innate weakness of completely lacking mid game, they relied on AoE HP buff from Coldlight and attack boost from Warleaders to get early game power spike, after that rushing to Megasaur was the only way to win in the late game because there was no way to pump up attack.
Now they don't give a shit because they have very smooth power curve with Felfins and Bagurgles to buy enough time to find Brann & Megasaur that close the game.
But yeah if in a years time divine shield poisonous murlocs are still the pinnacle of BGs it will be getting very old.
Still, I already find bird/beast/baron builds more annoying - atleast you have to stack murlocs yourself over time - there is something insanely annoying about watching a 2/4 cave hydra jump to a 36/38 or whatver the fuck...and they've completely squeezed out my favourite build which also involved cave hyrda but stacked in the normal way (i.e far too slow now) with buffs - Menagerie. :(
Ghoul doesn't do enough, by the time you know you need it, it's too late, the stats beat you.
Deathrattle comp doesn't beat murlocs. I'm around 9k mmr I've seen deathrattle comp beat murlocs maybe once in like 50+ final games. You need insane luck.
Because of megasaur, there is no comp that can out-scale murlocs as the game progresses. They also need to massively slow down the game (cap damage) which would give murlocs too much time to build up and outscale everyone.
I see a proper murloc comp like once in 4 games. Mid 6k at the moment. It's not that easy to get the dream, it really is not. Just try it. I wonder if people who complain about it actually try to go for it. If it's so good and easy, then abuse it, instead of complaining. It's not Standard, where you need actual cards to do something, right?
I've tried to get the dream multiple times and multiple times I've failed. Sure it worked some times and it was nice. But most murlocs I see don't even crack the top 3. My recent attempt didn't even give me Poison or Shields from two Megasaurs. I was dead before I could try for the third time.
Stop complaining about high risk high reward strategies. Climbing in BG is all about consistency and Murlocs are not consistent. If I had a choice, I'd go with Beasts over Murlocs 10/10, simply because Beasts are almost a guranteed top 4, while Murlocs may give me a flashy win, but also may make me end up in 7th.

Then buy Ghoul early on and keep him in your hand. Imagine that mindblowing concept :O
Murlocs win a lot of high mmr lobbies. In fact most that I'm seeing so far.
It's high risk only because the game is too fast. If they fix the game like they need, megasaur will be a constant problem.
Exactly, and it got worse since the Pirate Patch somehow.
Playing around 9000, and its just unbelievable to see Murlocs win almost every Lobby, And they said Pirates are a good Midrange build that will prevent that. Somehow a Problem too in higher lobbys is, you have 1-2 PPL going for T1 or low Tier Strat, playing for the safe Points, which allows PPL get away with the Greed more often.

Going to have to agree with the bottom statement here btw... Murlocs are 210% harder to pull off and make viable than T2 bird, T5 doggo and that comp ramps stats so much higher than murlocs that the only counter... is divine shield poison... aka murlocs
It's like fighting fire with fire... but instead of fire, we're using cancer. Welcome to Battlegrounds
Eh. There's always going to be some best comp in the extreme late game, something which scales harder than anything else. If it's not Murlocs, it'll be dragons with Kalecgos (and Nadina for Divine Shield) or money-printer Pirates. Back when Floating Watcher was Tavern Tier 3, it was Demons.
I don't see a reason why it *shouldn't* be Murlocs.
The only problem I see with Megasaur is that, with a single Brann and a handful of otherwise-unbuffed Murlocs, you can transition into an endgame comp in a single round. Granted, that one round is usually set up the turn before (and you'll be vulnerable to deathrattles), but I guess what I'm saying is, I think the bigger problem is Khadgar.
//
That said, if Megasaur became Scalelord, I don't mind. That makes Toxfin a lot more important, as well as attack scaling on Murlocs. I think it'd be better than Megasaur, but still provide a way for Murlocs to actually be a late-game comp. Considering the fact that Murlocs suck in the early and middle game, they probably *should* be a late-game comp.

What do you consider high mmr? I'm at 9k and don't notice an overabundance of murlocs. They are one of the toughest end game builds to beat, but I don't seem them winning more lobbies than the other really strong comps just because they are usually harder to assemble.

This is Hearthpwn. Everyone is by default at 9k and top 100 legend. Didn't you know that?
Exactly. People out here acting as if they get beat by divine shield murlocs every game. My take is, if you manage to pull it off before you get steamrolled by midrange builds, you deserve to win.

Top 100 legend equates to more like 12k mmr, so 9k mmr is no where near as impressive. Some would consider it high, some would consider it more mid level, which is why I asked.

If Ghoul would show up after I tip Bob 7 Gold
That'd be greaaaaaat...
It doesn't matter if they lose divine shield and you still don't have the stats to win against them
Lol yea if you have it you have it that's like the definition of winning my guy. Nothing wrong with murlocs right now at all tbh.
Bagurgle should never been added.

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game
There has to be a 'strongest' build..
