Seriously you get a pirate with windfury who buffs pirates when he attacked and another pirate that buffs him in each attack. Just went from 24 health to 8th place because of that combo. BG high role garbage.
Pirates are even better then when the dragons came out at first sight rofl. In a couple weeks the abundance of pirates in the tavern wil be alot less then now and everything will sort out prolly.
Yeah, it was not pleasant to get huge hits from pirates, thankfully enormous Battlemaster did carry me very hard, I wish his spine will recover after this. I hope pirates will not ruin BGs after all.
100% agree with you, pirates dominate early and mid game. Though imo the worst offender is the parrot, since its broken without making you locked into a pirate only comp (basically a baron on your most important deathrattle).

I imagine that cat is praying to all the gods just for you to always go first XD
LOL I had to taunt it cause there are so few beasts with no deathrattle, since I had to make Goldrinn the only deathrattle on my board. But poor cat :(
What's interesting to me is, the guys on the reddit forum was saying pirates would be weaksauce and that nobody would play it when all the other techs were better. I felt like I was taking crazy pills, from my perspective the pirates spoiled looked pretty strong.

Kripp hit the nail on the head earlier. They can super high roll mid game and just dominate. This can eliminate people quickly and leave them feeling like they never got a chance to even play. Sure it may be a high roll that’s magnified. By the fact everyone is playing them but it sure doesn’t feel fun to be hit for 20+ on turn 7 cause every time the pirates attacked they were buffed out of range and survived.
Yes, it's not uncommon for them to end up with most of their board midgame. But even in the most ideal scenario late game it leaves something to be desired. The best pirate card imo is that guy who gets bigger with golden minions, which can be used in any build.
That parrot though is pretty ridiculous with beasts.
And in case anyone is wondering the "ideal pirate scenario" is getting multiple Cap'n Hoggarr's which can lead to turns that only end because of the time limit, otherwise you can keep buying and buffing endlessly.

Hogarr is great - but not broken, IMO. As far as endgame builds go, it doesn't scale brokenly until you hit 4+ Hogarrs. Double Hogarr (and thus presumably golden) is basically free cycles of pirates, which is strong with the Salty Looter, but can't realistically handle really lategame stuff, as it's not infinite due to refresh costs. Unless you get stupid lucky with the 'sells for 3' one. I think it's the cannon and parrot that are the most broken. Cannon just carries early/mid, and when paired with Yo-ho-ogre and/or tokens, things get stupid. Parrot.. overstatted for the effect, IMHO, when you look at the already strong DRs at that tier. Swabbie is very strong, but doesn't just fit into pirates, almost any build can use it early.
Seems kind of like Pirates are like Dragons (mostly just vanilla stats) but that they come online sooner. Dragons need Tier 6 for Kalecgos to be competitive, possibly able to stabilize with Razorgore sooner, but Pirates with Ripsnarl Captain at Tier 4 can make a better transition into the later stages of the game.
On top of this, gaining +2/+2 when you attack is going to totally farm tokens and small minions. It's almost like every pirate has become Boogeymonster, Imp Gang Boss, or Security Rover in their potential to own token strategies. Now, I'm not saying that's bad, since Rat Pack is often utter BS, but it's impactful.

Fastest post-patch release salt ever
Chill man, just beat this comp with divine shield comp..
I actually just pulled off an Edwin infinite pirate buy build featuring double golden Cap'n Hoggarr and Salty Looter and it was nuts
I feel you roger. Just nuked my opponent with this combo. The poor guy went from 31 to 0 health o_O .
Buffing eachother + lowering tavern tiers cost - giving gold and getting free pirates.

Pirates are going to be really fun for like 2 days, and then it is going to get really stale.
Ohh hearthpwn

Wow you beat it once well hell then it must be fine......

day 1 and people are already salty
Why even this parrot is a 2 star unit? xD

BG is a trash game mode anyway.
