I want to improve my game. Sad to say I have not yet crested 5000. Who have you found to be the most helpful streamers to watch? I am getting better slowly but obviously could use some tips. Thanks!
Purple may be? idk I don't watch much battlegrounds as I find that pretty frustrating (to watch) :S
It does ofc depend a little on what you like watching and such... I gave Purple as an example because he's got a pretty high rating (~12 000) and he'll show you gameplay of a fairly 'efficient' way to ladder... you can however also improve by watching for example kripp although he will try slightly more 'wild' stuff and more 'unconventional' ways to ladder (in general) (he also has a lower rating from what I remember)
Thanks. I’ll check it out. I’m not really keen to watch a lot but I clearly need to do something different because my current strategies aren’t that successful.
You should definitely check Dog' s yt videos. I learned so much from him, like the khadgar + tokens combo which is insane. But even in "normal' games without crazy stuff involved, he is very informative, he explains his decisions.
Savjz is a great streamer, and he mainly switches between Battlegrounds and MTG. The first half of streams usually featuring HS:BG and the second featuring Magic. There are times when he strays pretty far from typical BG strats to go for high-risk/reward choices such as combining golden Khadgar and Brann to receive multiple instant golden tokens from Alley Cat or Murloc Tidehunter. I definitely recommend his stream.
I'd say Dog. He often speaks his thoughts out. I've watched a lot of Kripp, but he... eh. You won't learn that much from Kripp.
Being stuck under 5000 is kinda harsh though. It's probably around the average, I'd assume and if I still recall the numbers correctly and these haven't changed too much, but yeah. You can do better. An easy way of improving would be to just ask what the general process and strategies are. When you implement that into your game, you'll climb by default. There are basic things like always going for the best stats, using tokens to get more gold, knowing when to transition into another build, positioning your minions correctly and so on.
When I first started out, I quickly went to 5500. Climbed quickly to 6000. Then 6500ish. Then it felt like I hit a wall and I really had to give it a good thought. After a while I went up to 7000, then 7700. Then there was a time where I fell back to 6700 again. Then I climbed again. Now I'm sitting at around 7500 and seem to be stuck again. I know what I have to do to climb, but after +300 hours of battlegrounds, you kinda just start looking for fun games. And most of my devastating losses nowdays, which hold me back – come from me trying to force Murlocs almost every other game: "OH SHIAT, TWO MURLOCS TO BUY! LET'S GO BOIII!" ... But Murlocs are notoriously bad in the mid game. They get destroyed by Demon Juggler and Mech Refresh builds. Too little HP to keep up.
Thanks, that’s encouraging. After posting this yesterday I came in 1st twice and then just now I came in 8th. Gah! But I can sometimes be pretty random just for fun. I know I need to think more about board order.
I watch Kripp. His ranking is about 11k now. His videos has some skipping, so if u are at bob’s tavern for 60 seconds, a little after he finishes his pick in say... 40 seconds, u skip direct to the action.
watching the pros play is important. I never even knew spawn was that good in the early games till I watched the videos. Ya, I’m a noob. Haha
AMAZ:https://www.twitch.tv/amaz (This guy loves to play menagerie, he also is a funny guy) Learn to play menagerie is one of the first steps to get a high MMR
WOBBLEWEEZY:https://www.twitch.tv/wobbleweezy (He is the top player of the american server, He does not communicate very well with the audience, but god he knows what he does)
TWLEVEWINSHS:https://www.twitch.tv/twlevewinshs (He is a great player, he explains and teaches what he does, I've never seen him loosing his mind to a game) My favorite streamer by far
Thanks for that! I’ve not analysed the game nearly to the extent you (and many others) have. Just feeling my way through and trying to keep certain tips in mind. Gaining ground slowly but surely.

Dog is annoying. Savjz is pleasant to watch.
You can learn from either, obv.
ThatsAdmirable is solid. I think it's all he plays right now and he explains his thought process pretty regularly.

I passed 5000! Probably not very impressive for you guys but a milestone for me. 😁 Guess I should watch more videos.
Just type bebe autochess in Youtube... Sureshot ur MMR will drastically increase .
Dog for me, imo he's the better player vs Savjz and def a lot better than Kripp. I enjoy all of their BG vids tbh but I think Dog is on another level.
Missing lethal since June 2015.

I recently created a thread as I was stuck myself, might be of some help for you too, there're some good tips: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-game-modes/battlegrounds/242739-advice-to-get-better-at-bg-lowkey-desperate?page=2#c25
