Rabid Saurolisk is one of the best 1-drops in the game, since it's the only one that scales rather seemingly well enough on its own to be a threat until mid-game (sans Micromachine + Divine Shield). Definetly a huge, huge improvement over Dire Wolf and is a direct buff to Rat King, Pyramad and Queen Wagtoggle.
This is only after a few rounds:
Lady Vashj seems a bit meh. Not bad, but I'd say she is quite a bit weaker than Nozdormu, which even on "tier up" turns offers similar advantages, but does way, way more in all other turns.
Kael'Thas seems like a decent addition that can carry you to mid game on his HP on key minions alone. Has a higher skill ceiling than other heroes.
Maiev seems to be a tricky hero to evaluate as of yet. She's very, very weird in late game, since she locks minions down and hinders re-rolls for key minions. Seems to be the best when used when you only have 1 mana left to get the most out of it.
Otherwise I'm amazed they didn't buff Galakrond's hero power to 0 mana.
The fact that Maiev locks minions in the tavern and hinders re-rolls pretty much ruins it. It can make using the hero power actively bad. Maybe there are fringe scenarios where you can turbo level and use the spare mana to hero power and stabilize on key turns, but that seems pretty difficult to pull off.
Lady Vashj just seems terrible. You can't even freeze for a triple next turn and then level, because you refresh the minions. If they fixed it so freeze still worked and ALL the minions from the hero power were from the next level, it might be playable. Now it seems like one of the worst heroes.
After testing Rabid Saurolisk a bit more, he is straight up able to go the distance into late game as permanent card. That's insane power throughout the entire game. God tier addition.

Oh, man. I did not think of that. That's a massive disadvantage.

Ugh yeah, spotting those tripple & leveling turns is sometimes what seperates the better players. Seems like a huge disadvantage. She seems like an almost strictly worse nozdormu. He can freeze and level and automatically can get better tier minions when leveling.
I think people will quickly discover you can do absolutely absurd things with Lady Vashj. The fact that you can leverage freeze to get multiple minions of the next higher tavern tier can create some pretty swingy games. You may not be able to tier up and freeze for the triple next turn, but you can absolutely play around it and come out on top.

That's still worse than Elise and Noz tho. It has no direct advantage over them really.
What are you talking about. you dont get a discover card until after you play the golden minion , so you can buy the triple upgrade, get new minions and then play the golden minion.

You dont get the Triple reward until you play the minion though, You can buy the minion upgrade and then play it and still get a higher tier card.
Honestly I haven't had the chance to really play the heroes much, and in one case, haven't even seen them as a choice.
Kael'Thas - incredible, simple as that. Top tier imo. I kind of want to say it's categorically a better Yogg. Yogg may be stronger at say turn 4, but past that...
Lady Vashj - pretty ho humm, not good when you can immediately see how other heroes are considerably better than them, and how they are similar to lower tier minions. All the hero power really does is save you a mana when you level. But it's not surprising one hero is "filler".
Maiev - have yet to play the hero, but it sounds really solid. I want to say he's good to power level with given the gold he's saving buying minions. Also not sure if you should start using his hero power as soon as turn 1. I'll say he sounds fun, at the very least, to use.
Kael'Thas is really fun. Probably top 5 in terms of fun and interaction. Nothing will ever come close to Malygos in that aspect tho. I LOVE his flexibility and all-around greatness. 100% most fun hero in the game.

I feel like I never get offered Malygos, and when I do it's usually alongside something I just can't pass up like Yogg or Nozdormu. He is definitely one of my favorite to play, though; lots of different routes you can go.

I see Malygos I pick Malygos. To me he is the best combination of fun, flexibilty and power. I'd rank him top-tier in terms of power as well so I don't sacrifice much. I think he is equal to Noz even. Maly has early game advantage, but Noz has better tier-up turns. I feel I get more triples with Maly as well, but I'd have to calculate the odds to see if that's universally true.
My last 4 Kael'Thas runs have been first places, never had a bad run with him so far. The question is am I just getting lucky with him or is he at nerf level?

Loving the new 1 Drop, and Kael'thas.

That's the thing, it doesn't work if you spend the mana to level up this turn and have a potential triple you want to freeze for.
This way you have to get the triple this turn (not play it) weakening your entire board and get other stuff from rerolling on this turn instead.
You'll be behind in mana curve as well from that point out on.

I see what you mean now, i misunderstood you the first time. That does suck. Feel like it could be ok if you are really lucky though.
When can people without perks play the new heroes?
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
no where.. That's what the perks are for lol
They will fully release them for everyone on the 26th of May according to the Patch notes
