I played a game with Alexstraza and had bad opening minions. Leveled up on 4 mana.
The minions at 5 mana were dodgy and I was going to fight Millhouse who probably has 5 minions and I might not even kill anything.
Leveling up cost 6, so I sold my minion and leveled up to 3 on the 5 mana turn.
I got 2 decent minions on 6 mana, a Houndmaster and a Rat Pack. Leveled up to 4 on 7 mana.
Played against AF Kay and got trashed for 13.
6 health remaining.
Leveled up to 5 on the 8 mana turn. Discovered a Murozond with nets me an extra minion and a Cobalt Scalebane.
The next 2 turns scraped out narrow wins, then found a Brann and Annihilation Battlemaster which carried me for several turns.
Found a Nadina and a Kalegos too late to make a big difference, but my Battlemaster was now a big triple but needed more stats to fight the guy with a couple of 50/50 dragons.
I ended up narrowly winning the game.
I don't recommend what I did. I did it because I was getting bad minions in the Tavern.
But if you sell your minion on the 5 mana turn, it is possible to go to Tier 5 on 8 mana.

Fantastic story, have you ran it by a publisher?
