Got some pirates, had rough synergy, but no looter. hit 5, got one Hoggarr. Then a second. Golden it. Hit a fourth and stuff gets wild. Next turn, hit #5 and #6 hoggarrrs for double golden hoggarrr. Eventually hit the looters, but even just the infinite gold for pirates and cycling through to get the two buffers was holding out well for a fair few turns. Ended up with a bonkers set of stuff. Double golden Hoggarrs is 5g back every purchase, for 2g profit, ignoring 'sells for 3' pirate; that's one pirate every other reroll to go infinite (golden+1normal is having to hit a pirate every reroll, which isn't anywhere near as likely); that's effectively infinite. Don't think I've ever had true infinite before, capped only by rope; got burnt by rope leaving me with only 6 a few times, but after I'd seen the looters it was basically game. Golden looter with the dog bone was fun, though :P So many buffs from the strongarm - that thing is - unsurrisingly - a crazy menace when you have basically infinite gold for pirates.
Really causes issues with the rope and APM shenanigans, though. HS really should not be reaction and APM based, IMO.
Annoying that they got rid of the rank floors, but hey. Not an issue for now. Did save me last season when the meta went super-unfriendly to non-pass holders, though!
Had to share this, probably the most awesome Pirate Build I ever had, it might not be the strongest build, but it definitely was fun. Ended up with 6 cards generated by Nat Pagle :D The end results of final battle as an attachement.
never got this lucky: golden brann and 2 golden lightfangs, used hero power on one of the lightfangs, got brann with the Faceless Taverngoer and got the other light fang with that darkmoon fair prize: turn a random minion in Bob's tavern golden, there were a couple of good minions but it hit the light fang, lol:
Ended up losing two rounds in a row with 56.3% and 73.8% changes to win, but not even salty, because the last one was partly my own fault for leaving that 20% change for losing. I didn't notice the 3rd player had died to the ghost and thought the game would go on for at least two turns, so I creeded some more and only sold one Nomi. I think it would have been close to 100% if I sold all the Nomis for the last round.
Talk of the Tavern achievement finally accomplished!! ...as Aranna - the 50th hero.
5 more heroes left + unavailable Wagtoggle
Some heroes weren't easy at all and with some others I had to win twice (because of "2nd place" bug - not just visual, you are actually 2nd) but I learned many new things on my way and for example now I'm no more afraid to pick underdogs like Lich Baz'hial, Lord Barov or The Curator...
Had an absolute blast with Chenvaala today. Started quite bad, but I looked hard for the elementals and got rewarded, early golden Party Elemental, then early golden Nomi and afterwards I snowballed out of control fast. Later golden Ragnaros, golden Garr, two Djinnis. I utterly obliterated my last opponent dealing over 40 damage, he played elementals too.
Alex with an early Golden Selfless Hero for Imp Mama allows me to transition into a poison scam comp. Not a huge thing to be proud of, but Mama was sweet, and it was one of those "should have been 8th place" games that just worked out well. Ended 2nd place to some stacked Amalgadons, but the key to my opponent's win was the plants.
I've been saying for ages that plants just win games. They can be bad if you're trying to Macaw, but otherwise they'll often really impress me. They break ties. They pop shields. They clean-up low HP scam poisons. Plants. Just. Win.
I think my best board yet. And yes, that are 10 amalgadons on my side, and 4 on his side :).

My first real try at pirate exodia :)
Nice. I was able to get Pretzel Mustard with that build.

Overall quite an experience
Mimsy Were The Borogoves
Amalga + Red Whelp had Windfury as well, felt good.
Received the Tasty Spicy Mustard achievement yesterday. Al'Akir and murlocs :)
Let me guess, your mmr is below 10k?
You will probably never get these above 10k. You just cant afford to be very greedy and play for tempo.
Congrats anyway, solid units
Nice Pepper One - Golden 5 aka five in a row
Mimsy Were The Borogoves
Nice job, you even did some of the work with Tier 4 heros.

Ceterum censeo classum magi esse delendam.
LUL
omfg yes, the brb achievement finally acomplished
when you see three OP heroes and AFK twice in a row (after first try 7th place), you are like: no, no way I'll try this shit ever again...
..but sometimes you're crazy and lucky enough to make it
went from dragons (heavily carried by Hank & Whelp duo) to Lightfang menagerie to Quilboar menagerie to win
never more!
Mimsy Were The Borogoves
My biggest minion yet in 641hours played :$
Turns out double golden Monstrous Macaw + golden Selfless Hero + golden Goldrinn, the Great Wolf + golden Baron Rivendare + double Maexxna is quite decent. Who would have thought? :D

Anyhow, a nice game to end the night with.
What should I pick?
