It just blows my mind that they nerfed so many other stuff and they let this obnoxious card still be a tier 3 card when it should be tier 4 not even say tier 5. Everyone literally picks it whenever they get it, i see dragon builds with 5 dragons 1 Cobolt and 1 refresher, which shows how stupidly OP the card is. The sad thing is that i predicted that the game would go that way when they nerfed Watcher to tier 4 but for some reason they didnt also move Cobolt to 4. I guess im gonna take a break until they decide to do sthg about that so i can finally enjoy the new patch a little bit.
Its fine. It was too strong before watcher I agree. But now they added a bunch of tech options. Red dragon is good vs Cobalt and Unstable Ghouls almost a hard counter.

I agree with this guy. I'd wait a little longer.
Generally,I don't think it's wrong to have "build arounds" at different tiers. Wrathweaver is TT1. Tog is TT2. Hyena is TT2. etc.
Cobalt may be too good at TT3, like Floating Watcher was. But, there is nothing compelling for mechs before that. And after that, most mechs require Rivendare (or to a lesser degree Junkbot). Especially since they have eliminated Shielded Minibot and such. So if Cobalt was nerfed, I think it'd have to be part of a larger examination of how mechs work in HSBG.
I am really hoping blizz finally nerfs cobalt to tier 4 later this month, they already confirmed a big balance patch for BG is coming and we will learn more about the changes very soon. For now, they are removing Tirion very soon.
Pre-Watcher nerf, demons were clearly the problem and so they nerfed the problem card.
Even if it was obvious(which It was) that Cobolt would be strong, I agree with their decision to not make changes to multiple strats at once. A nerf to Cobolt may not have been needed at the time and especially after the introduction of dragons.
While Cobolt is still a very strong card and as OP mentioned, shows up outside mech strats a fair amount, I typically don't see it in winning comps at the end game unless they are full mech. Its very powerful Midgame and can be kept for good amount of rounds before dropping it, but this can also be said about several other tier 3 cards as well.
I don't think Cobolt needs a nerf personally. The counters exist, mech endgame isn't the best in the game, many mechs were recently removed and without an additional buff somewhere mechs could become very weak.

Cobolt is NOT fine. Lmao

Cobolt is not fine it should get nerfed to tier for or replaced with a good mech.
Cobalt is strong, but with the removal of several mechs in Battlegrounds, it's been reigned in a bit.

No need for this. They better get rid of Leeroy instead.
