To show what I mean I added SS-s for my lasst 2 games. I had a Rafaam against Murlocs and had to adapt to a Cleave and after that had DW and the last 5 turns had to go with Deathrattle mech synergy for Murlocs to remove DS-s from the opponent with summons.
The mode is generally harder for the average player ATM, but I have success like 90% Top 4 and 50% Top 3 my last 25 games. It's way better and RNG is not such a factor as you have like 1001 more modes and Menagerie is easier than ever.
You often take screenshots from two different devices when you are taking screenshots of your “last two games”
Yeah. An iPad and Galaxy S10. ATM I am working night shifts and due to the work I have whole night to play, but if I bring a tablet with me it will be little suspicious :)
* Deathwing is a tad too strong (incidentally, just *lost* my first game as Deathwing - and it happened to be against someone else that went to 6 almost as fast as me, got a build that was near-identical to mine, and sniped key cards in each of our last 3 games (while I got no snipes of note) to take me from 38 to 0). But it basically took someone playing a Deathwing build to beat Deathwing. XD * Malygos is trash. Some of the other heroes are a bit slower than the meta really allows for them to shine in without some luck (Reno and Alex come to mind) - but if they roll a good build through the early game, they can ride until tier 5 which is where both of them can show off. Malygos though? You're rolling the dice, and usually you're not going to get anything amazing. Have played him twice now, and he may honestly be the worst hero in the battlegrounds (even compared to those that try to force you into a tribe, which is an awkward spot for most heroes given that forcing tribes doesn't work if the game doesn't give you the appropriate cards). If they made it so that he transformed the card *and* returned it to your hand, that might make him a little more viable, as at least in that case you might roll a useful battlecry. Honestly, the idea itself isn't awful, but the power level of it exactly as it is right now is way too low. * Reno is fun, but generally high or low rolls. You need to get a decent enough build to last to 5, grab one of the key build around cards (I got Lightfang very early with my Reno run, already had 3/5 tribes, and pumped it up to 5/5 on the next turn, eventually running away with the game), but if you do, golden Brann/Baron/Lightfang are the stuff of nightmares. Hell, depending on the build, golden Razorgore would be really, really good (+14/+14 per turn if you have a full board of dragons). If you can somehow wait until 6 there are a few powerful options in there - notably, Kalecgos (+2/+2 to your dragons if you play a battlecry card). Just a fun, high roll card. Because it's typically so slow, I don't know where it will ultimately end up in the tiers, but the high roll potential is just great. * Cobalt is still annoying as hell, and the new 6 star murloc just creates more synergy (you give up a refresh slot for the Cobalts, for a murloc - that can get poisonous - that itself refreshes off of the Cobalts). 4-star Cobalt would be a good change.
For malygos, are you factoring in that you can HP on unbought minions? Basically a free reroll when hunting specific minions for trebles lategame (~1/14 or 1/16, depending on tier, similar odds for T5/6 on rerolls), which gives a fair chunk of power. Add that to the ability to transform tokens early, have a much higher chance of some early synergy, and slightly higher chance to hit some power cards first, and he's solid. Not top-tier, but middle of the pack, probably.
Still waiting on DW being offered to see what he's like.
New murloc is sweet, though - as well as the DS support in general. Another many DS->payoff card, a pain in the backside dragon to kill with DS/reborn, and the new murloc? Fun times. Having more builds possible that are cross tribe seems good for the health of the format.
Cobalt sticks out like a sore thumb at 3, particularly with the new DS payoffs, though, can't disagree there.

On the Malygos front, it took me reading a comment in a different thread to realise you could actually do that. No wonder he was so darn awful. XD In my defense, I can't recall another hero that can interact with both your owned minions and unbought minions like that before, so this is a first.
Just had my first game with him since finding that out, and finished second - decent murloc build with two of the awesome new 6 drop to ideally bounce divine shields off each other, to a Rafaam that went 5 mech - for Cobalt refresh - and two of those 6 drop murlocs that already had poisonous (so between us we had 4 of them XD though it's entirely possible that Rafaam got some that weren't in the pool, given that third was also running murlocs - though I don't recall them running the new one).
Essentially, besides a turn 1 token (which high rolled into the 2/4 demon), his hero power was used entirely to transform unbought minions. It's probably similar in power level to Toki - perhaps a little weaker as you can't cheat later tiers, but in other ways, stronger (0 cost, not forced to take a certain tier - I know in my run on tier 3 or 4 I had two tier 2 doubles, so opted for a tier 2 reroll to try and complete one - and it worked after 2 turns or so). It was decent. More often than not missed, but came through with some very useful transforms.
Also, to touch on the Cobalt point again - ugh. Just won a game with a barely-good mech build; 2 Cobalts and a bunch of refreshes. Who came second? Pretty much the dream dragon build. Kalecgos for at least 5 or 6 turns, 4 Razorgores (golden + normal), golden Togwaggle (I didn't rate him in the later rounds, but after seeing him behind a massive Razorgore he can still grow quite scarily). The Cobalt build is just too easy to get compared to what it takes other comps to actually win a game.
The mode used to be so great and now its just hot garbage RNG ridiculousness fiesta. Sooo much nonsense now...so many Heroes...so many bad decisions...just no. I truly and utterly believe Battlegrounds used to take SKILL. Not anymore. They took their best skilled mode and basically turned it into another RNG fest.
I seriously HATE playing now.
Lmao now it hot RnG fiesta lol. It was and always was 100% RnG fiesta. You have no control on where the attacks go the only things you have control over is what u pic what combination and what not some times u get what you want sometimes you spend gold for nothing lol. If you would take off your rose colored glasses you would of Seen that at first.
I mean its hearthstone. Skill ? Where did that ever come into this game ? Its about how much time you have , you dont even need to think about what cards you need to put into your deck. You can see amile away what cards fit what cards lol.
"I'm bad so the game is bad" isn't really a coherent argument. I mean, I've done terrible since the patch (lost ~700 MMR so far), but I know it's because I haven't gotten the hang of the new meta yet. It's not the game's fault that I've been slow to figuring out how to work without the divine shield taunt minions, how to properly play dragons, how to cope with Deathwing, etc. Still loving the mode, even though it's kicking my ass right now.
I don't necessarily agree.
Deathwing forces everyone in the game to play around him. You should be building your comp with that in mind. Every tribe has a good way to play around him, and he starts to taper off as health totals on minions start getting higher as well. His early-mid game power is very high, though.
Malygos is a very specialized hero, and generally allows you to play battlecry minions and then turn them into much more substantial minions. He's also very good early on with token generators because he can potentially turn the 1/1s and 2/1s into 2/3s for 0 mana.
I'll say that I'm not doing very well myself. I used to be good at getting into the top 4 consistently. But now I feel like I'm not able to build good boards as consistently. That could be my lack of skill, and maybe I need to learn, but I also feel like half the time I'm just getting very unlucky. And while I think dragons are mostly balanced, they add a lot of high roll stuff to the game that other tribes don't have without more perfect synergies. Like Murlocs & Mechs don't have a card like Razorgore for example.

Sure thing man makes sense, I mean when you’re trying to show two back to back results you take one screenshot on one device. Then email it to another so You can take a screenshot there and then post it in threads when you’re trying to flex on random people on a forum

The minion pool is too diluted. Going for a specific build now requires insane high roll. The game is more luck-based than anything. Though it helps picking some OP heroes like Tirion, Deathwing and Ysera.

DW is interesting in how it does push beasts and other tokens within that particular BG for everyone. Seems super strong, but hey. Someone's gotta be on top. Could see it eating a nerf, tbh.
Maly is a solid enough pick for heroes, when you realize how it works - I mainly use the HP on unbought to hunt for trebles in a similar way to something like Noz, with similar rates, but just the added upside of turning spent buff minions into possible value and a stronger earlygame. Maly T1 dream is a 2/1 and a 2/4 taunt... :P
As for some bad luck - it certainly happens. I have some where I destroy, some where I get offered chaff, mown down by early red dragons, and so on. I've had Alex runs where I'm on top before TT5; others where I'm sitting comfortable on 25ish at 2nd, then BAM. 7th due to double razorgore, cobalt stupidity, or similar, in one turn. The one good thing about togwaggle is that he usually doesn't hit your face hard. But yeah, people are staying in longer, it's common enough for everyone to be TT5 and nobody dead, and that will lead to some nasty health swings when the attack orders go wrong.
I will say that beasts have got a nice buff; maybe it's that they help a load against deathwing; maybe it's that you get get to lategame more, maybe it is that buff to mama bear, though I doubt that one. Feels like a decent tribe, and one you can win with now. Demons feels dead, dragons are just better piles o' stats. Murlocs counters dragons if you can get over the TT3-4 hump without dieing.
Battlegrounds was always an RNG fiesta, this patch just amplified it. It's pointless to talk about any skill factor. Just accept that it's just a coinflip, otherwise u are playing the wrong game.
The added tribe seems to make it more likely that you can completely miss on early synergy, which is a bit of a death knell. I like that things aren't guaranteed in the late game, but it really sucks to come out of your six gold turn with a menagerie.

Battlegrounds is hot garbage right now. Completely ruined.

cool bro but this isnt your diary
Remember when there used to be a late game in Battegrounds? Its nonexistant now.
The minion pool is too diluted. Going for a specific build now requires insane high roll. The game is more luck-based than anything. Though it helps picking some OP heroes like Tirion, Deathwing and Ysera.

In my experience there is more late game than before patch. Top four make it to rank 5-6 pretty consistently.
Top four? I think you mean top seven make it to TT5 pretty consistently :P I'll certainly agree, though, much more lategame.

I also dont like this New patch, olá look at my idea
i agree with the OP, too much rng and too many minions added at once.
I agree with them adding more minions, but they should only add a few at a time, not 20 or whatever it was.
Tirion and DW are basically winning every one of my games...very diverse meta...
Literally a shit show meta... devs are brain dead... any poster on this thread that thinks current state of Battlegrounds is fine has lost their mind
