Well, that was one way to temporarily buff murlocs - push a big stat tribe so they're often open, and the best counter :P When the dragon hype dies down, probably will go back to being highroll only, though.
As far as transitioning goes, it should be completely possible to still lose. If someone went full deathrattle all game, why should you be able to stomp them with a T5 transition? The problem is that the transition is even possible in the first place.
It is still quite possible to lose when you get a Megasaur, especially if you don't have Brann. It's not like you just need to reach T5, and instantly win. The Adapt options are still random, and you won't always get Divine Shield and/or Poison. If your Murlocs have low health, Poison won't even help you that much, as you can easily lose against Tokens, Deathrattles and Divine Shields.
If you can pull it off, it is fair to beat someone who played Deathrattles all game, since they probably had a much better time for the last 4-6 turns, and a much lower risk to drop out early. If you play Murlocs and try to get to 5, you are very likely to lose several matches in a row, and may lose 20-30 HP in the process. If you then can't buff your Murlocs fast enough. you are out.
On the other hand, If you get Spawn of N'zoth, Kaboom Bot, some other decent minions, maybe a Mechano Egg and eventually a Baron, you will usually do just fine as you level up, and may even end up winning.
Murloc are in a bad spot right now, sure you may highroll 1 game or 2, but most of time if you try to go murloc you will end up losing badly in midgame and finish top 6-8. It's crazy to think that murlocs work better at late game transitionning with Brann + Barguggle + Megasaur.
Revert Primalfin Lookout nerf, this way you have more odd to have an early Barguggle which let you live long enough to stabilize and tavern up until you find Brann / Barguggle.
Murlocs in the end game you see more now, so things have definitely gotten easier for the murlocs. But I have noticed the requirements for getting to the point where your murlocs are unbeatable has increased. There's a general increase in just how powerful you can get, sometimes people have end game builds super early.
