Well, i've done it, I broke Battlegrounds. Or at least, I am getting punished for something. I've managed to drop 900 MMR over the last 2 days, most of which just today. I've gotten one 3rd and one 4th place today. All other games (8/9 or so) were losses.
The reason is always one of the following; 1) Simple bad luck in the shop, making you lose health every turn never able to catch up, 2) Getting hit for 25+ damage on turn 6 by someone that high-rolled the absolute f***ing shit out of the game, 3) Getting knocked out for (nearly) exact lethal, JUST as you have a build together.
Man, this is not fun. I've dropped from 8900 to 8000 MMR and its getting worse by the minute. I have to stop playing for a couple of days, before I physically break stuff around here.

It's not true.
Beating Battlegrounds is simple. It is about *NOT* getting triggered.
Just say "Haha, nice Bob F you!"
I've had 5 digit MMR for I think a month. Bob gives me trash out 2 out of 3 games. I just finished 2nd in game where somehow mysteriously I got no triples like normal, which is not really a big deal because if I do get triples I whiff hard into trash rolls.
This meta is easier than ever by a long shot.
1) There are so many busted heroes now. The age of 80% trash heroes sailed long ago, thank God!
2) There are so many options for board building now. The age of Bob kill you by offering you the death roll opener involving 1/1 Wrath Weavers and a couple of Mecharoos is gone!
Now, with those big advancements towards a level playing field -- if you are doing poorly look in the mirror and there is the guy or gal to blame.
Individual Battlegrounds games can be frustrating, but collectively they are easier than ever. It's very hard to have 3 or 5 bad games in a row, for instance.
With all of these adjustments that make the game far more fair and balanced, perhaps you need to master YOURSELF.
If you are easily triggered, Battlegrounds certainly is not for you.
Pro tip: Getting triggered is also known as "throwing the game." If you like to throw games that's on you. I've had numerous games that sucked the whole way where I finished 3rd or 5th, I've also had games with out of this world luck where I finished 7th.
Ask yourself what misplays you made each game. You can't control in-game elements, but you can control your decisions.
Battlegrounds always boils down to the 50/50 of who goes first, people who climb to above 10K hopefully are getting paid to play the game cause that lack of a social life to play the hundreds of rounds a day is sad.
I agree with the above - there is way too much emphasis and advantage to who hits first.
I know this has been debated before, and im not sure if there is an easy answer or not, but to my mind, is it not a case of random for R1, then whoever has the low placing from R2 onwards has the first attack?
Nothing like making a top 4 and two other guys are running the same tribe, while one guy has a tribe all to his own. Thanks fellas. Thanks for nothing at all.
Edit: Yup I'm convinced. People are just as stupid playing BG's as they are constructed.
Fix the f*cking MATCHMAKING COMBAT in Battlegrounds, it's f*cking ridiculous, every f*cking game I scale up and up and up and I get stronger only to get f*uked by even stronger RNG players, it's f*cking unfair and disgusting! I went to 5k in 5 days just to get down to 4,7k in like 3 hours ! The screenshot is my proof, every fcking games it's a f*cking Highroller who literally taking a piss!!! I know I shouldn't get angry but I simply don't want to take Blizzard's bullshit in every single match! It's frustrating and wants me quit after not even getting started !!!!
How the fuck is the game balanced? In like more than 10 games I'm fighting in every fucking combat the same fucking opponent 3/4 times per round and when I don't fight them , I fight pumped up motherfuckers who fucking gets 5 triples and a fucking golden battle master with 30/230 and another one with 15/70 ! I smacked their assess all game just to get the 3rd place . And some heroes a fucking bad have you looked at the tier list ? And what are you talking about rolls ? Dragons , beasts and elementals are the cake , mechs , pirates and demons are fucking trash also the rolls can be fucking horrendous , for instance you plan to go dragons but Bob is a a motherfucker and rolls you mechs and kadgar ... dude I don't know what are you playing but this meta is still bad, there are some improvements here and there but the game is still cranky and full of shit.
Its not balanced. Its a slotmachine with predetermined MMR-brackets giving you the poor illusion of having a choice in how well you do. The game disgusts me so much I feel like I want to punch someones teeth in every time I play.
Also the game forcefully balanced your mmr around your predetermined bracket. You can see this pattern when the game forces you to tank your rating only to follow it up with a win streak. Once you are on a losing streak there is NOTHING you can do. Nothing.
No too salty here, but I was recently screwed by playing on an iPad.
I was playing Reno and had a golden Khadgar and a regular Khadgar, on tier 5, playing several token minions. I think I had 6 triples that turn, but was only able to play 1 due to the animation time and lag. I couldn't even have played that turn much faster, as I even restarted the game right before the previous fight.
I entered the fight with both Khadgars, 5 2/2 tokens and an Amalgodon. Needless to say, I got knocked out that fight.
Well I guess it is my turn for a bad streak. This is nuts. I have slowly and steadily climbed up to 8300 then floated between that and 7800 for a good week now. Today I dropped from 8250 to 7400 on a streak of terrible placings. I am not sure I have finished too 4 today. I haven't changed strategies at all, just nothing seems to go my way. Very frustrating.
Lag ate an entire ****ing turn when maybe I'm turning the corner on a bad Kaethas start.
This patch fucking sucks
never hit first for 2 fucking matchs
Maybe a little salty after this game.
This mode is fucking trash

I know I'm not supposed to win this fight, BUT...

Unless, of course, youre facing Illidan.....
My magic will tear you......oh.
Only recently started BG play.
My salt so far is from the players that always go for the builds I'm trying to make, lol.
My other salt is for when I have free reign on a class and get offered trash cards at every tier.
My 3rd salt is for those players that build massive Pirate and elemental boards. I hope you choke on your luck.
Other than that, not much to get worked up over since I only just started to get into BG play to offset my rage at playing ranked.
Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.
A .gif is worth a thousand words.
I lag and i dc when i play the game... i am pissed

Getting top 4 in BG is about all you can do with skill. Getting 1st is 100% rng.
My only problem are the lucky elemental big boards just because they have so many cards that generate random elementals
