Im really asking myself at what rating you’re playing? Because claiming at tier 3 are all the strategy key cards seems very wrong to me.
Deathrattle build is at the top since the Nerfs and 3 is not what you’re looking for. Same goes for Murloc build. Brann is at 5. both cleaves are at 4 and 6..
Maybe it’s just me but I think you make the „BIGGEST“ mistake in thinking tier 3 is your base for a strategy. Sure it can work I don’t doubt that. Even tier 1 can work.
also I don’t think many pallets choose their strategy at the start of the game. People got into this mode and at my rating they know what they’re doing
The best start is maxing Value/Stats in spite of whatever tag it has. Later you try to include/improve synergy (certain points are very situational).
Sometimes it is more profitable to upgrade early, sometimes you want to buy more minions delaying tavern upgrade (especially if at starting rounds opponents have stronger army it is often good to delay upgrade and buy more minnions to secure some hp).
Going first and/or having big hp pool makes you able to risk fast upgrades especially having triples (2 on board, 1 in tavern).

Im on 5500 and i think the deathrattle is more like the plan B to catch High Buffed Opponents and i think The ( Cooldlight Murloc ) is far more important than Brann for Murlocs strategy ........... i mean what if you have brann but you didnt find any of those Blue Murlocs? hmmmm

Watch various high-ranked streamers play, and you'll see all kinds of different strategies. Sometimes even the streamer is surprised when they try something new or weird and it takes them to first place.
What that says to me is that the biggest mistake you can make is to believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach or pseudo-algorithm that will always work.
Every game is different, and every lobby is unique. You just have to go with the flow and make decisions that fit the current situation.

This pretty much sums it up. Nothing more to add. Well done and very beginner friendly explanation. I like it

There are 13 copies of Coldlight in the pool, which generally don't get kept, they get thrown back in.
There are only 9 copies of Brann, and people will be keeping those.
It's much, much easier to find a Coldlight than it is Brann.
And if you don't think Deathrattle is high tier you haven't played against anyone good, sorry.
I play at around 5000. I can confirm that the term "RNGrounds" is more or less accurate.
When I do well in a game it's because a lot of fortunate doors opened up to me. I just played accordingly and enjoyed the ride, The author is correct in being malleable with what the game wants to give you but I'm just going to add not to beat yourself up if you get slaughtered in a few games: the doors didn't open up for you like they did for other players.
There's a lot of things you can control in this game but to really skyrocket you need to hit the minions you need when you reroll.

I played many games after the patch and many times i couldnt find even a single one for whole the game:(
thanks i didnt know that theres only 13 coldlight.
It's quite amazing really that people still think strategy decides BG games, when it's actually 80% pure and simple RNG. I mean sure, go ahead and convince yourself that you made a brilliant strategy when you highroll a win :D

If that's the case then all the pros seem to be extremely lucky with ratings beyound 9000 most of them ... ;)

They also play a LOT, and I think playing a lot generally gives you a higher rating.
Over the long term, its probably pretty similar to hearthstone. Good strategy and not making mistakes lets you win a bit more often, while luck is a huge factor in individual games.
Stats in the beginning. Start looking for pairs at 6 & 7 mana; hitting that 9 gold upgrade + triple is pretty big. Then I start keeping an eye on the field at around 8 or 9 gold; that's about as late as you can transition without getting beaten down in the mid-game. Doesn't matter how good your board is if four other people are going for the same thing (though that's usually only going to be the case with Murlocs or Demons).
There are other heroes besides the tribe-specific ones that I think steer you from the beginning, though. I'll almost always try to go Murlocs with Shudderwock if there's a remotely decent opening, for instance. It's a pretty low risk comp when you're not reliant on Brann.

The BIGGEST mistake that many many players do is choosing your strategy in the start of the game and then searching for the minions to fit in!
its like everyone Want those Filthy evil creatures named Murlocs but 80% of them lose the game because they couldnt find the late game tools...
or those who start to build Demon Army from phase 1 and they couldnt even level The Shop to Tier 5 :P
The BEST time to choose your strategy is in (Tier 3 Shop) Because all the Strategies KEYS are in there.
So you must level your shop as fast as possible to Tier 3 then see what key cards you got and that will decide what your strategy in that game.
Just my opinion after 200 game what do you think about choosing strategy?
Im interested to hear pro players advice in this thread as well.
Marry Xmas.
If I pick Jaraxxus or Milli I want to play Demons or Mechs.
Thats why they are among the worst Heroes according to the Tier list.

Well ok on low rating kinda everything works :)
