This is the same fucking story as what's happened with WoW. They don't give a shit about what their players want or what the community is asking for. They just make fucking random changes.
Nightmare amalgam is run in every single winning board. It's such a toxic and stale meta and Blizzard have no fucking idea.
I'm fucking done. Battlegrounds had such good promise but they put out patches that makes you shake your head.
I think the Amalgam changes are coming in the January patch, according to everything I've heard.
It's not so much that they aren't listening, or have "no idea", or are making random changes... it's that planning, testing, and implementing changes takes time. And honestly, compared to their lead time in responding to issues in the other modes, their Battlegrounds changes have come out with relatively little wait.
In other words, chill out, sugar bean, you will get your Happy Meal toy eventually, just mature and learn some patience.

Indeed; Blizzard's been real good with balancing and updating Battlegrounds, whereas Standard had to go through stale metas for months on end. I can't imagine how it must feel like developing a game where it seems like almost everyone is almost always angry at some aspect of the game.

I don't mind Amalgam, it's has an important role, but there should be more cross tribal cards that offer other benefits and disadvantages besides there just being one decently statted one size fits all minion.
I was more disappointed to dsicover that Sylvanas was a hero, rather than a minion that I had been expecting. :(
They are gonna balance amalgam at some point. It's obviously a tricky one for them because the mode was clearly designed ground up with the amalgam in mind. They clearly wanted a neutral 'flex' minion in the pool.
To be fair, without Amalgam any mech, beast or demon build would be obliterated by poisonous murlocs later on. Do you really want that to happen considering murlocs are already a dominant strategy in the early to mid game stages? And now that the fish men received more viable support (who the hell thought that would be a good idea?) Amalgam is more necessary than ever. Still, I'd like to see it moving up to TT3 so it doesn't become a race of "who gets them first?".
They should take back the light fang enforcerer nerf and move it to 6th tier.
This. It's still annoying when people luck out on tier 4 only to get carried to victory by this abomination of a 2/2, especially when they also get an early hydra (which everyone is going for due to the abundance of divine shield).
As a side note, I would really like to see Cobalt Guardian as a tier 4 unit. Yeah, some might argue it would be an additonal nerf to A.F.Kay but it's clearly superior to any other tier 3 minion and even outperforms some of the tier 4 ones. That way the mindless Replicating Menace spam might be reduced as well as long as there is no counterplay to it (maybe introduce Grim Patron as tier 3?)

Something like unstable ghoul as a 2 would be interesting, IMO, as a counter to tokens, as well as enabling divine shield popping plans. Patron would be interesting, particularly in addition to ghoul. There's no downside to magnetize, no reason not to replicating any amalgams - not sure it's a great mechanic in such a space-constrained format. Amalgam is a combination of ultra flexible, enabling menagerie buffs to be 100% efficient (even the dragon part :P) which is part of the lightfang issue, and allows DS/taunt/poisonous in non-murloc builds, which is important to keep.
As for cobalt, it's strong. Moving it to 4 would kill AFKay, IMO, but that's secondary. It's certainly strong for 3, but moving it to 4 would crimp mechs significantly. Both in how much slower they are to get going, and in limiting the amount going around. And ATM, with murlocs everywhere and the new demon being popular? I'm erring on the side of not nerfing mechs.
Tried to play one game this weekend, everyone got 25+ hp taunted amalgams before I even got to tier 4.
Also got trash rolls on murlocs I was trying to buy, only after matching with #1 player I saw that he got them all so I was p. much rolling for nothing but that's another issue.
Will play 3 games again after update, there's no reason to keep queuing when every match looks the same.

I see amalgam as an universal minion to support every startegy. Don't see what is wrong with that.
Fight, maggot!

Only time you don't buy amalgam is if you already have 2 of them and don't want them merge.
It's also the reason why it's so hard to find annoy-o-modules since every player (even non-mech) is buying them out for amalgam

at least they're angry at the game & not apathetic about it
that means at a minimum people still somewhat care about this game. quite an achievement
on topic: just view the amalgam as a base model of the entire mode, something that's like a fixture you can't erase
I do horrible thing sometimes, I do merge Amalgam in mid-game, so arrogant because I usually get 4th one.
The goal of all life is death.

amalgams should be 3 star tier
The only change I can see happening to Amalgam is moving it up to tier 3 - it is a minion that is much needed.

calm the f*ck down, buddy!

I have a few games won wihtout an Amalgam, 5000+ rating. Few, indeed, but it is doable.
After the last patch Murlocs became quite powerful, and also with some cleave and right hero you can stomp huge amalgams with divine shield.
Poisonous my friend, try it ;)
