Go mechs or beasts... most consistent, other stuff works but it's nowhere near consistent, especially menagerie, that's dogcrap if you don't hit Lightfangs.

You don't need Lightfangs if you get a Bran instead and the other way around.
Here's a very specific question (obviously situational, but I'm curious about the general philosophy people have):
You have a six minion board. You buy a buff minion (say, Defender of Argus) with your last 3 gold and slam it down. Do you leave it there for the sake of having an extra body (just a 2/3 at this point), or do you sell it to cycle through the tavern and look for something to freeze for your next round?
There's no point in selling it right away, You get slightly more stats for the next fight and if you do sell it and reroll you'll have to freeze the board instead of getting a free reroll next turn. It's more beneficial to leave a weak temporary minion on the board and sell it next turn.
Do you ever buy another players minions? Like buying Junkbots or Mama bears just so your opponent have a lesser chance of getting them? I ended up buying two Junkbots today even tho I already dedicated to menagerie strat with early Lightfang. Ended up with a triple Junkbot I didn't need, but still got 1st place.

Yes I've started doing this if I don't find a good buy or can't make room that turn
I've been both 8th place around 3800 rating, and first place around 5000 rating, so keep in mind it's Hearthstone - so A LOT More RNG than most other games...
Pick whatever tribe is being given to you; take note of what level the person you're about to play against is so you can better position your units ... Dont sleep on Shifter Zerus; Beast and Mech are retarded broken right now. (Broken really just translating to easiest to work with) - a good hodge-podge comp can get you top 2 easily Murloc can be really strong, stack some low levels and then aim for +hp murloc - then aim to adapt them (7/10 not worth going murloc tbh) Don't underestimate token generation cards. Try to play around your hero power... Milli Manastorm can stay around Tavern level 2 stacking pogo hoppers and still catch wins, Deathrattle/Riverdale comps on Lich King will surprise you as well.
Edit: Feels like regular Hearthstone, games are predetermined and your participation is just a courtesy. Keep in mind you can go from a 8 win streak with 40 hp, down to 17hp remaining in one turn
