I think it will probably be a gamemode some will love and some won't. I'm sure if you asked a lot of players plenty would say arena gets boring after a run or two. Different people like different modes.
I think it's a lot of fun, but it has the chance to get boring very fast. To keep it fun for me i think there are some things blizzard could do:
1. change the minions you could use in the game [(add new minions for example: Dragons)(remove some of the current minions, i would remove minions that are not played a lot, it doesn't have to be permantly removed)]
2. add new features (i would like to see some spells as well)
3. give more rewards (i don't know if you can do quests with this mode but atleast you get the 10g after a win)
4. balance patches (for example when you have 3 shifter Zerus you get the affect: Each turn this is in your hand, transform it into a random minion of the next higher tier, i don't mean that it upgrades the tier each round maybe my wording is wrong)
can't get bored if you don't have access to it *taps forehead*
in all seriousness though, I don't understand this prepurchase to gain early access thing. this is the first instance of HS actually making a difference in f2p and p2p iirc

I don't think it's fair to say this. The mode will be free once it drops for everyone, and I'm sure this took Team 5 (a lot of) time to make. They can use it as a tool to drive more sales on the pre-order bundles, taking into account the fact that it'll be free on release.
As far as the comment on it being too boring, I've personally never liked TFT/AutoChess-kinda games, so to me, it's boring. But as Pikefreak said, to each his or her own. I do think it's still in development, hence why it's early access, and like the core game, things will be added to it in the future. We've seen this in other modes as well.

I did get 10 gold after 3 wins. (3 firsts).... Though I think it should scale better since you're being 24 people instead of 3.... Edit it's possible anything above a certain rank counts as a win
Its a lot of fun, pretty deep and rewarding to play if you like auto chess style games. I dropped Hearthstone after 4 years recently for Dota Underlords, its harsh to say it gets boring in a day as I thought DU was gonna be my new hearth but after month I got bored shitless of it. HS Battlegrounds has brought me back to hearth and its a far better battler than dota underlords, for one games last half the time and you feel underpressure at times, with dota 40 minutes, 20 of which your just sat around waiting. The figures went from 2000k to 20k then back up to 50k after the big patch and within days back to 20k.
I think the reward system is quite interesting as well as people interested in auto chess will buy packs and maybe try out standard.
Watching enough streamers now to get a feeling for the battlegrounds, but have not played it myself yet. Opinions may change after I get to play with it. Not preordering because I did not see enough to entice me to do that yet. I usually only preorder if I feel the set has something to offer me or enough good variety of cards to be excited to open a bunch of packs.
Speaking of variety...
Battlegrounds WILL get old and the meta will settle very quickly. There isn't enough variety of minions and the tiers make it very easy to figure out what is good and what isn't. But let me parse out my thoughts in a more structured format.
The Good...
1. The mode looks fun and is a great distraction from the ladder or arena.
2. This mode has competitive potential and endless ways to make it E-sports viable.
3. The gameplay is fast and the wait time between rounds is minimal.
The Bad...
1. The variety of minions is lacking and the metagame is quickly figured out. Without removing and adding minions on a regular basis, this mode will get stale very fast. Once a month shake up is the only way this mode stays relevant and fun.
2. There are currently no tool tips or obvious ways to know what is going on for new players. They need a quick way to communicate selling, buying and so forth. Possibly even have a list of minions of your current tier so you know what is available if you reroll.
The Ugly...
1. Being told you have to do X, Y or Z in order to see your 'stats' or play the mode to its full potential is not free to play friendly. Without incentives or reasons to play this mode, F2P players will try it out and quickly abandon it if it offers them no progression towards gold or packs. This mode is NOT quick to play. And getting 10 gold for 20 mins of gameplay instead of quick 10 mins ladder games is not going to appeal to most players.
Last points...
I see this mode as a great step in the right direction by offering something for free and giving out new play modes to players. That's great and should be commended and applauded. But getting this mode is NOT what players were asking for. Tournament modes and in game client applications. More deck slots and being able to host your own fireside gatherings or mini tournaments all within the client were being asked for.
I really hope this is popular and does well. I hope they keep the game mode fresh by rotating out minions and heroes. I hope they realize the potential and didnt waste their time on this instead of game balance and card testing.
They should probably add Dragons because ... you know ...
But I tend to agree that all autobattlers lack staying power unless the developer updates frequently with new units, new tribes, and in this case new heroes.
I haven't heard of any plans to do any of that for Battlegrounds. Maybe they are waiting to see how many people play it before making any promises about future support.

I've only played one game but I love it! I feel like it takes serious thought and consideration compared to constructed which can take some thought and consideration but mostly depends on current meta knowledge

But hey got this pretty fast after only few games !

fun, but gets tiresome quick. if quests applied would be nice.
got a quest that says "play 2 games of battleground" 60G but i don't have access and can't re-roll, nice!

Yeah, I got the same thing... talk about a desparate attempt to get people to preorder?

This is all beta anyway.....I’ll play it to get whatever rewards there are and that’s it.....looks boring to me.
I really liked it, I am current,y enjoying more than the normal game mode
Favorite Cards: 1. Lord Jaraxxus | 2. Malygos| 3. Edwin VanCleef | 4. Zephrys the Great| 5. Deathwing
There definitely should be a reward for top4 and the winner or it will become quickly a dead mode (or the least popular).
I didn't play it yet but watched lots of videos.
The problem is there are not much diversity of strategies you can follow

If anything its got me back into the game.
To the OP. You forgot to include "IMHO" ; )
IDK, I'm having fun with it.
"There is no spoon"
couldnt agree more.
but Im somewhat hopeful, as this is just the beta. I think they'll add many things once they done with balancing.
are you guys honestly surprised a game mode is getting boring fast?
hell, an entire expansion gets boring fucking fast as shit. like 2 weeks in, maximum
