Hi, fairly new player here. Been playing mostly mechmage so far since 1. it's one of the few decks that can function decently without adventure cards and 2. I was lucky enough to pull an Antonidas early on. Now I have finally hoarded enough gold to get 3-4 adventure wings but I'm not sure which one to go for, all of them seem to have some valid merits.
Here are the benefits I see for each option.
LOE: This would allow me to further perfect my current deck with the addition of gorillabot.
BRM: Would allow me to switch to tempo mage by getting flamewaker which is the heart and soul of said deck. Tempo mage seems to be the most viable type of mage in the current meta. Without mad scientist from naxx however, I would be playing secretless which may result in my build having less power than more standard versions, so I may end up with a stronger deck if I just improved my current one.
Naxx: Ironically might be the worst option of the three for my specific case despite seemingly being considered the best adventure by the general community. Mad scientist is usually used in tempo but unlike flamewaker isn't absolutely nessecary for the strategy. The only new possibility that this adventure alone opens up is a potential control/grinder/giants mage deck with mad scientist + duplicate but that seems to be the least successful type of mage currently.
Btw not sure if tempo mage works without mad scientist, mech mage becomes stronger with mad scientist too.
It's probably not optimal, but definitely workable. Would probably look something like this. Mech mage with secrets seems pretty rare from what I've seen. I have seen one or two decks use it but it seems like deck space is pretty tight and there's so many other things you want to play on turn two.
not only for mage, but Naxx is pretty important to every class in general to have first.
Well honestly I'm not really interested in other classes since, as an f2p player, who knows when I'll have enough good cards for them. Looking at it purey from mage, naxx seems to give me the least immediate impact would you disagree?
I think you're right about Echo Mage, haven't seen any lately.
If you want to keep playing Mech Mage LoE is best, but Tempo is better in this meta from what I've seen and Flamewaker is great in Tempo Mage.
Yea, tempo is definitely the most viable in this meta. The question is, (since I wouldn't have naxx if I went BRM), do you think secret-less tempo would be significantly worse than mech.
Imo focusing on just one class even for a beginnergets boring very fast plus it is very hard to complete any quests, plus if you have 4 ings of naxx, you can make a hunter deckand improve your mage decks,if you pull some good legendaries, you can make a budget control warrior since deaths bite is in that wing too. Jz having mad scientist n mirror entity ,makes it possible to make some kind if midramge mage, while it is notexactly competitive in the pro scene it is playable and winnable. Or you can get GvG and justicar and make a mifrnage pally.(sorry hard to type on my tablet)
Naxx opens up a lot of possibilities, and brm is great for dragons, loe is really great bang for the buck as well. But I think that naxx is a great cornerstone that most decks and collections are built around

Giants Mage are ok enough to consider going for Naxx first I think.

Iron Juggernaut
This guy. --> Mad Scientist will be your bread and butter. Go NAX or bust!!!
naxx or blackrock, naxx for mad scientist, blackrock for flamewaker
I think you should get BRM because you can have Flamewaker Mage.
