I am actually struggling with Unleashed Rafaam on normal mode. I am using a deck that should work, temp mage, but I keep losing by turn 4. I can't even get the cards I paid for because of this.
EDIT: And again, the perfect minion summoned to destroy me. At TURN 4! And I have to sit through the explanation every damn time.
EDIT 2: And I give up. Maybe I have more luck tomorrow. Can't get the class challenges either because I can't get past the last boss! Because RNG is screwing me over again and again.
Why the hell is everybody boss easy and then this?
Hmm, I found the first Rafaam a lot harder than the second, until I decided to build a deck of garbage 0, 1 and 2 drops to give him. For the second fight, just use a standard Zoo deck, and keep building up the board. keeping his side as clear as possible. When possible drop your sea giant type big threats out the turn before he loses immunity, so he has less of a chance to clear them, and they can get nice big face swings in. That fight went fairly well for me, and I think any kind of quick tempo-y deck will do fine... if you are playing some slow deck that doesn't have a lot of early minions, well, yeah, that would be very tough as you would have a great deal of difficulty having things on board to swing at his face every time he gets our of immune mode.
I made a secret paladin deck to beat him after midrange failed me, because honestly that new hero power was far worse than my own with all the synergy I had in there, and beat him easily on turn 7 when he was vulnerable, with enough overkill to probably kill him again, with a Dr. 6 draw of course.
I was able to one shot Rafaam Unleased with a feign Hunter deck.
The first Rafaam was a nightmare, though. I tried it with like 6 different decks. I finally just threw together a deck full of 7+ cost creatures and clogged up his hand. Killed him by the time he started dropping legendaries :/
For the first Rafaam, I beat him by "playing" mill Rogue. The AI tried to play it like an aggro deck. ;) To it's credit, it got me down to about 3 before I stabilized.
For the second one, I played a Taunt/Control Warrior deck. Hide behind Taunts, save your weapon charges for the turns on which you can go face, and stack armor as much as you can. Not being able to Armor Up hurt, but I had armor-granting spells. A Taunt Druid build might also work, with cards like Bite for extra face damage when you need them.
Since your HP gets replaced with one that costs zero, Inspire minions might be a good help too.
Yeah, I am going to try today again. I think my problem was that he got the exact right minion out of the staff every time. That Naga one that turned my flamewaker and manaworms into something else, and then there was the game where I managed to get my antonidas out on turn 3. It got turned into a 0/2.
i think i just end up making a give me shaman deck with deathlords, coldlight oracle, refreshment vendor and zombie chow the first time around. gave him a few overload spell to keep his mana somewhat lock down.... still took me 5 tries though.
Finally got passed him, thanks to him not getting the naga boss or the one that turns your minions into 0/2. Actually went pretty easy.
I have enjoyed most of this adventure, especially the more inventive ones. Even the first Rafaam was interesting. But Unleashed Rafaam. too much is based on what minion he gets on turn 4. If he gets the wrong one, you concede and you can't just skip the whole intro thing.
Normal ones are not even meant to be a big challenge.
Now heroic one was quite nasty. Although other of those encounters you can make way easier by making a deck full of crap and unusable cards. Like giving him Nerubian Eggs but no deck synergy to activate them.

Used my normal Midrange Pally deck to beat him first try. I don't remember the fight being particularly hard but maybe I was lucky? The only deck I had to make for the entire Adventure on Normal mode was a crap deck to beat him when he steals your deck. My Midrange Pally deck maimed me the first time lol

I know, that's probably why I went tilt. I knew it was supposed to be easy and I got crushed again and again.

Use Dreadlock. Its rediculously easy.
Hard to use Dreadlock when you don't have Dreadsteed.

Yeah, first Rafaam. Gave him my Hunter deck, took two tries but apparently it was bad enough that I could beat him.
I just litterally went with normal ye old Control Warrior... It's on the front page, the Top 8 with Frothing Berserkers... I destroyed pretty much the enitre adventure with that deck. I think out of the 13 matchups, I had to not use Control Warrior for 3 of them. The very last one, Control Warrior played normally worked for me. Maybe I just got lucky?

I used Totem Shaman to beat him the first time but after he said my deck was garbage I used the same deck to beat his Unleashed Mode.

Nevermind, wrong Rafaam.

Just play a deck of 7+ mana creatures against first Rafaam, he can't play anything except portal'd minions, and he over draws at around turn 6
play hunter btw for hero power
Whoops, wrong rafaam

There once was a man from Nantucket...

The trick is to build a deck that can quick an easily deal with big minions, and get some cheap removal in the starting hand.
I managed to beat him on normal and heroic with a priest deck full of contro/removal: SW death, entomb, Mind control, etc.
Another good one is to give him an overload shaman deck with high cost cards and crap you may find like the eggs.
