not that 99% useless cards out of 45 is mathematically not even possible (but thats besides the point)
i like a lot of these cards and already have some plans for them.if they work out., well, we'll see i guess but im pretty sure at least 5-10 of those will see constructed play, maybe even become staples
Let's get this straight: If the cards seem as good or less good than the current card pool people will complain that the expansion is underwhelming. If the cards are strong people will complain about power creep. At least try the cards before you complain about them.
Also, I may have missed it because I cbf properly reading through 6 pages of whining, but nobody seems to have mentioned that the previous PVE content has been really fun. Surely it's worth the gold/cash just for that?
well, it seems to be that a huge amount of players forgot what "fun" is in a game where tryharding/netdecking/minmaxing etc is so huge. i wonder how many players really try to come up with something on their own that actually works and incoporate cards that otherwise won't see play at all. regardless of that, i'm way happier with new releases that are balanced rathern than multiple cards that are overpowered or just a big disappointment. yes, TGT and this one didn't/won't have any insane cards but it keeps the game in a healthy state
I'm disappointed by just how fan-made it feels, in particular the murloc cards. I swear I've seen iterations of them in the Weekly Card Design Competition. Of course I like to think that cards we submit have a hypothetical chance of being added to the game in some form, but I expect them to be added with a slightly more 'serious', more professional tone. Having a 10 mana spell for Paladin, that barely has anything to do with the class and has a stupid pun in the name, is off-putting TBH.
Silver-lining, I guess; now people can stop using that disgusting baby murloc artwork for their cards.
And exactly like for TGT, we have those pourd hipsters coming here to explain to all those nasty netdeckers (lol) how this expansion is actually super good.
And exactly like for TGT, less than 5% of the set is gonna see any play.
Does anybody play for the the Adventure? I mean I love playing the AI with new cards from other sets? I mean does everybody just play to get the cards? Hearthstone is casual game to me. I don't try hard every season and mostly play for the new cards. I mean I like trying the adventures with just TGT cards or just GVG cards and try beating the horrible AI.
maybe about 10% (for ladder), some decks don't even use cards from it. But arena got destroyed with common inspire cards that close out game if not removed before second activation so that's something
Meanwhile GvG was so impactful (and is still a pinaccle of powercreep) you just cannot make a decent deck without at least 5 cards of the set
If you look at Naxxaramas, then Blackrock Mountain and then League of Explorer's there is a consistent theme of lack of usefulness over time. Is Blizzard afraid to make changes that could really impact and change Hearthstone? This is what's bad about being an online based card game. MTG and other card games never received the heavy distaste from the community. It's almost like we, as a community, have made Blizzard afraid to make impact changes to the game. Yet they want to serve us new content, which we in turn denounce anyways. That's what it seems like to me.
All of the new content since Naxxaramas has been one after another, less exciting and less impactful to the actual game. I think big changes could be interesting. Like when Starcraft 2 went from Wings of Liberty to Heart of the Storm. A lot changed. There were certainly new characters being used, but the same bread and butter found place in the game.
I think that perhaps Blizzard is having a hard time adding new content that won't completely whipe the old content, leaving players+payers feeling robbed by then having dated, useless cards. That's always the way card games were though.. I don't fear having my cards become obsolete. I'm glad they played well when I had them. If they don't work because newer, better cards are released.. SO be it. There is so much they could do with Hearthstone that is quite simply just not being done..
Also, in relation to my previous post, maybe there could be options to play different expansions to allow for "vintage" cards to still be played in their own meta even after being overrun by newer, powerful cards from further expansions?
So 1st of OP obviously is dissapointed in the cards of this adventure and not of the adventure itsself because nobody played it so far.
Sec. There are a lot of cards with potential in those 45 cards. Basically all pro reviews ive seen so far agree on that, and you come here to say theyre wrong?
Okay It should have been clear OP has no Idea of this game, propably rank 15 or so. because Meta is best balanced than ever.
Control is viable as is Tempo, Agro, Midrange. World showed that also. And all statsides+ now even Blizzard on Blizzcon say Secret Pala has no OP winrate as patron did every single part of evidence here proves that, yet we get each day some noob post about how unfair meta is.
Oil, Freeze just for example just wreck this deck, and yes you need access to most cards to be fully viable in a cardgame. But if there should be a new format to help those players is a whole different question.
"This card isn't viable; this card's worse than shredder so it'll see no play; no way this legendary gets played when we already have Dr. Balanced, WAAAHHHHFGQEFVADFVADFBARGB"
Will you people stop complaining about the viability of the cards? This expansion seems very FUN! Yea, have you forgot about that word?
Ever since Hearthstone became a "competitive" game people only play cards and decks that some random "pro" bloke said it's really good and look where we're now: everyone plays THE EXACT SAME DECKS THAT INCLUDE ONLY THE LEAST FUN CARDS TO PLAY AGAINST.
If this keeps happening then I don't know what the future holds for this game...

LEO looks like best Add since Naxx to me.
I suggest you should learn to read, when you do that, come back here, read the post again and type an answer.
For some...only the constructive ladder exists. Their lives revolve around the grind to Legend.
In my opinion, everyone that plays this game should take, at the very least, one day a week to play just some crazy fun deck in Casual. Or hell, even have the balls to play the deck in Ranked and try to dial it in.
I want bonus stars for play and winning with original, unorthodox decks. Not because I won 3 games in a row with tier 1 efficiency decks.
Don't get me wrong, those decks can be fun too.
I'm more disappointed that SecretPally is getting another secret. Feels like a troll.

That secret is really irrelevant, you should never play 4 strong minions against paladin, Equality + Cons combo punishes you hard for that.

Because it's a one mana card that you will almost never be playing from hand, it doesn't have to kill a big minion to get value. Also, a more midrange secret pally doesn't really need to worry about two or three threats on the board because they can use Aldor Peacekeeper or the new Keeper of Uldaman. Just my opinion ;D

New set seems to have 15 to 20 good cards. Maybe a little more or less depending on your definition of good.
People seem to say the set is trash before every set.

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.
