There was so much talk about what to expect from the PAX announcement, There was huge expectations regarding new hero's, play modes, co-op, features, etc. It seems the only thing we got was what we were sure we were going to get anyway, a new adventure, and a mobile port.
I'm happy there's a new adventure coming out, but only because it means new cards, maybe its to early to jump to conclusions, but I was a bit unimpressed with the announcements, BRM just seems to follow the same format as Naxx, except this time around there will not even be a free wing.
I dunno, Like I said im excited for a new adventure, but really just so I get the new cards and that's it, was I wrong in expecting more?
Well. Mobile port isn't a small thing and it is only normal it is a priority over let's say hero portraits. I bet after they have released the game across all platforms they can focus on adding stuff like that. Also, if they keep pumping an adventure and an expansion every 3 months I think I have nothing more to ask.
Yeah, Blizzard said nothing about anything else. Expectation for anything more came from a supposed 'leak' that was obviously wrong.
Not to mention it's only been 3-4 months after a large expansion, and HearthStone isn't a huge division of Blizzard like any of their other games. It's just a small group, that is getting bigger now, but for a F2P game they are doing pretty well.
I understand that people want more, but 2 adventures and 1 expansion per year is pretty good. I dont get why people feel so entitled to so much more.

I'm just happy that we are getting a new injection of cards only four months after the last expansion. If they continue to pump new cards like this, I think it'll be great.
Looking back now I suppose anything special would really be saved for Blizzcon, not that I expected ALL of it, I did kind of expect something different though, like maybe a new Hero to go with the new expansion, or some kind of new mode, just something to capitalize on the release of a new Adventure, and separate it from being the same thing as Naxx.

If Blizzard does plan on releasing anything new, it will be in Nov/Dec when they release a new xpac.

They can't release an expansion so late or the game will go stale. I bet on a new expansion before the end of summer, then another adventure before 2015 ends (basically adventure-expansion cycles every 3 months or so).
I thought they were going to do a starcraft / star wars / star trek themed holographic F2P expansion but I GUESS NOT. Only an adventure. WAY TO GO, LAMEZZARD!!11
I was hoping for some small quality-of-life improvements, e.g. built-in tournament organization of some sorts or the ability to import/export decks or card collections. I feel like the game could really benefit from adding just a few more features to make it a more streamlined experience.
Otherwise, another PvE expansion was all I was expecting. I'm glad, too, because Naxxramas was pretty fun, and I think the development team got a lot of insightful feedback from it. So I'm hoping Blackrock will do all the things Naxx did right and avoid all the places where it fell short.
I also think regular release cycles are the way to go for Hearthstone at this point. So far the card variety is picking up, but there are still 'best' archetypes for each class, and lots of neat cards that aren't even considerations in deck building. This problem should go away as more and more cards are added, but also I think a few really well-designed cards from the adventures are all that's needed every so often.

They can if they add an advanture during summer. Personally I expect more adventures then expansions.
I think we are a bit too early in to see a new hero added yet, although I'm sure there will be some added in the future. So far, each release of cards has been great and shaken stuff up for months. New pre-nerf Undertaker decks - deathrattle Priest anyone? - shook stuff up for ages after Nax and I think we will likely see a similar thing happen this time round. One thing to bear in mind is that there are now many more cards than we had when Nax was released so there will be a host of new decks springing up for months afterwards. Mill decks may become a thing and under used or gimicky cards might suddenly find a home.
It would be nice to see some more functionality and all round polishing for the game but i have no doubt this will come in time.
I think that they will likely save the really big announcements for Blizzcon - probably that Starcraft is almost here but has been delayed again due to witchcraft.

They announced exactly what was to be expected really. Any other expectations you might have had were just pre-announcement hype driven up by the community. Anybody with a reasonable view on it would only be expecting the current content.
New classes, co-op, and play modes are all balancing nightmares. I think they should definitely be pursued, but only after they have it on as many platforms as possible. After mobile is out and running fine we can start to poke around about play modes. A new class would be tough to implement as a whole because of the amount of cards that would have to be added and balanced. So for now, lets take this slow enough that we're not going to destroy the game in the name of jamming in new features.
Porting the game to mobile plattforms is important to keep the game fresh and available everywhere possible. I really looking forward to play it on phone since i don't have a tablet and sometimes would really like to play it on my phone when i'm not at home. This takes a lot of work since they need to completely change the design.
Also when you saw the presentation you see that there are different kind of user interfaces for phones; especially for smaller screens this is important that some user interface elements are still visibles on smaller screens. This takes a lot of work. So yes, this is for now more important than adding play modes that are a balancing nightmare.
This does not say i don't want them too, but this is also important.
Yep, 31 cards is not a lot. Let's hope there are multiple playables. I am really looking forward to the phone release though. I am a little disappointed the release date is so distant, but I am sure it will be worth the wait.
I was disappointed, since none of the things I really wanted (new game modes (simple ones, not co-op), tournament mode, UI improvements, more deck slots, etc.) were mentioned. It would have at least been nice to have a timeline as to what else they plan for the rest of the year, and when we might get these things if they're not coming in April. I foresee this game losing dramatic numbers of users in the next 6 months if they don't dramatically speed up their releases to add more variety to PvP gameplay.
I was hoping for more cards, Hearthstone is like 200-400 cards away from being a proper game, and paying a lot of money for 31 cards isn't what I had hoped. I'm glad something is coming, but preferably I'd want a 60+ card release.
Actually you are paying 25 $ for 31 cards and at least 5 of them will be legendary. If you go right now and buy packs for 25$ you probably wont get as many legendaries also if you look at naxxramus those cards had a great influence on the meta since a lot of them were playable.
loatheb was great, KT was... okay-ish, but the rest? rivendare and stalagg/feugen were basically only super combo cards, barely viable in constructed, maexxna was even worse than that... atleast if you buy packs, you can actually DE the stuff you get to craft whatever you want, with the adventure, unless you are collector, you basically have to buy filler cards to get the couple of them you will want to use.
Best we can hope is BRM releases as few filler/junk cards as possible, but looking at naxx, which had good third of the cards unplayable to barely playable in one deck of one class for funzies, I dont really see it as such a great investment as others just yet, maybe when blizz reveals all the cards, I will change my mind.
gonna be honest. Why does everyone think there is going to be 2 adventures this year?. so far they are on par with last year. i wouldn't expect a second adventure.

Exactly, Naxx was well worth the cost. The number of rares/epics/legendarys was probably 2x more than what you would get if that was spent on packs. Plus, half the cards from Naxx are still being used in most decks today.
All cards from Naxx that are considered good and still see play in many decks.
