I'm struggling with defeating the Lich King. All deck suggestions I've found so far make use of cards/expansions that were standard back then.
As a returning player, I have virtually none of those cards. So I'm looking for decks within the current standard to deal with LK. So far I've only beaten him with Druid, with an Embiggen deck.
I've so far defeated him with Druid, Warlock, and Rogue. I don't have any wild cards and did those three at the start of the ashes meta. With Druid I used Embiggen, with Warlock I used Highlander Galakrond, and with Rogue I built a weird all-minion stealth Galakrond deck and beat him. I've since deleted these decks though. With Galakrond Priest and Quest Evolve Shaman I've come close, and I think I'll be able to get there with a few more goes, but I can't see a possible way for other classes. Especially Mage and Warrior. For Mage when you're at 1 health on turn 1 I'm thinking mulligan for Zephrys and heal? For Warrior I have no clue, but maybe some Bulwark of Azzinoth fatigue shenanigans (with Hoard Pillagers, Corsair Caches etc).
I beat him with an Enrage Warrior variant that included 1x Bladestorm (to immediately kill those 2/6 his weapon summons) and 1x Platebreaker (for obvious reasons). It took me many restarts to get both cards in my hand early, but once this happened it was a piece of cake
Vicious Fledgling is also still a relatively simple method. I used it over murlocs for the most part, it just takes some patience resetting for the RNG of drawing it, hitting the right buffs, and dodging certain cards from the Licky boi.
I realize Fledgling isn't standard any more, but I would think it's the only Wild card you would need for where it's useful.
I don't know if it works against Lich King, but there is an infinite dmg combo with Priest of Knife Juggler, Ritual, Topsy Turvy and that 1 mana 0/2 Boomsday minion. I think you should try that.
Do you know about the Kobold Stickyfinger glitch? If you steal his weapon the Lich King will become invincible but do nothing, so you can kill him with Mechatun.
You should put the common card that reads "battlecry: destroy your opponent's armor" (can't recall its name) in every single deck you play against the lich king. I figured out that one copy of it in the deck is enough.
Some of the classes requires only one take to win.
Mage for example.. but I can't see how you can win this without two molten giants.
Thank you all for your suggestions. Some replies somewhat ignore my point on only have cards in my collection in the current standard. The murloc suggestion I'll definitely give a shot. To be continued :).
Mage is easy. Restart until you get Kabal Lackey, Mana Bind, and Platebreaker. Kabal Lackey+Mana Bind on 1 to get his spell, then reduce his healt to 1 with it and play platebreaker. Then just ping.

Look to battlegrounds for your answer.

All but Warrior can be beaten with murlocs.

Also, Lich King can be lucked out with Alarm-o-Bot and the best minions you can bring.
I think.

You can murloc rush him, it's harder without Un'Goro mage secret, but doable.
Warrior really needs the armor breaker, as its the whole gig againt Lich King. The rest its all about managing to cheat big stuff.
