After purchasing some old packs (for the 1/10 legend) I was a little underwhelmed with my very first hunter legendary: Acidmaw. Anyways, I didn't disenchant him. You never know when he might be useful, right? If the answer was to remain 'never', I decided he'd have to sit up the back of my wild collection, constantly drooling green sludge, while other beasts got to enjoy smashing my opponent's face.
Then today, I decided to have another crack at the Lich King; this time, with hunter. I put together a deck that loosely followed the budget Scavenging Hyena setup. It sucked. Majorly. I mean, is it really possible to beat him with a pair of hyenas by turn 7? Maybe. Probably with an incredible amount of restarts and headaches. After a couple of attempts, I thought I'd get the green slobberer, Acidmaw, into the deck. It worked alright, but needed tweaking. As soon as I tweaked the deck to play off his strengths, I won first attempt. Not sure if it's that simple every time, or if he is wildly known as a great card to use in this battle, but I thought I'd share.
I'm sure this deck could be improved, but hopefully it can help anyone who's yet to defeat the Lich King with Hunter. And happens to have Acidmaw. Here it is:

I can't really speak to the deck because I've already completed TLK with all nine classes and I don't own Acidmaw. However, I can talk about the part I've quoted: the answer is Yep, you most certainly can defeat him with the budget Scavenging Hyena deck, and Yep, it can require "an incredible amount of restarts and headaches". The strategy relies entirely on everything going your way 100%, so no Obliterate, no major Sludge Belcher roadblocks, etc. You might get it in one try, or it might take 100; it personally took me two hours and 60 restarts. Despite how much of a pain it is - and it's a serious pain in the ass - people use it because it's a very cheap deck that's guaranteed to work. You can beat The Lich King with nothing higher than Common-tier...eventually.

Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
Ah, I remember TGT and Acidmaw in particular. My first three legendaries from that set were Acidmaw; at least the third one was golden!
Haha! And this is why I choose not to disenchant! I can't see myself cracking any more TGT packs, but Acidmaw has been sent to the back of the wild herd. Either his time will come again, or he will sit their drooling, wishing he could only cost 4 mana or so.

Sounds about right. I don't quite have all the commons required, and also feel dirty crafting commons unless I really need to. I don't think I have the patience to keep restarting. Maybe for 20 minutes, but I'd probably throw my phone in the trash if I kept going for hours!
molten giant is the mvp vs the lich king as hunter/warlock/mage.
I'm yet to crack me a Molten Giant. I'm also yet to defeat the Lich King as warlock or mage. Might hold off until I score one. That said, I do have Glinda, could make for a brutal turn 7. Or can the giant obliterate The Lich King well before then?
Well, that was a bit of a shock. Went to play wild ranked and accidently had this deck selected. Opponent has Arthus portrait (which immediately earns my respect). Baku says G'day. I'm on the draw. I thought, why not see how I go.
Never hit Acidmaw, but this deck slaughtered odd paladin!
