I was probably going to pick dog just because I know him, but that's probably not the best idea. I'm sure there are some great players there I have not heard of.
any advice for voting this time around? I got burned with a Pav vote last time and wan't to avoid this happening again. LoL.
would be interested to see who people are voting for this time around.
I voted for Viper. I was going for Dog, but decided on Viper instead. No particular reasoning as I didn't see the decklists, I just know Viper is a great player and has been doing better recently.
I've never voted for a non EU player but went for Dog this time round.

Seems Dog is the favourite. wasn't sure if it was just memes or not though. He is a good player from what I've seen of him though so maybe he is the best pick.

Dog, whenever I have copied his deck lists in the past I have had success on ladder and a pretty good time playing them. Anecdotal, but it’s my reason.
"I voted for Dog" = "I didn't bother looking at the brackets and decklists"
FYI, Dog is bringing inner fire priest in a bracket with 2 guys who have full skulking geist lineups. Enjoy your 1 pack :)
Not saying he's a bad player or anything, but he pretty much lost to getting unlucky in the deck submission stage. If anyone cares, I analysed the first 3 groups and think jinsoo and rugal are the best picks to get out of group stages. Lost interest by the time I got to group D (purely based on lineups, not skill). Still, I'm going to wait for a Firebat analysis at onmi/ or something if possible before voting
1. He is amongst the few famous streamers who made it to the championship level
2. He is pretty chilled out on streams
3. He has been asked multiple times to remove his shirt on stream but he doesn't get annoyed about it and takes it jokingly.
4. When you watch someone even if it's for a short period of time, you kinda build a connection with them, especially if they have a decent and humble personality
5. It's not only his good traits but his gameplay is good too.
6. Human nature is, you are more likely to support someone who you know even a little bit compared to total strangers.
7. I always voted for Kolento because he is one of the best HS players (even Toast said that)
8. I voted for Dog mainly because I know he is good and also because I have watched his streams and he has a good personality :)
I am sure I am representing the views of the majority of people voting for Dog.
I hope he wins and gives us 4 packs but I am not going to be too optimistic... If he wins its fine, if he doesn't that's ok too. At the end of the day, we got nothing to lose and everyone appreciates a minimum of 1 free pack and a maximum of 4 packs :)
I normally pick Pavel because he wins a lot. last time i think he only got me 1 pack, but the one before that he got through to finals so I got a lot of packs off that.
I am wanting to check out what decks people have before making a choice. ofc you can only work out which ones have the advantage in stage one I think.
Too bored to make an accurate prediction so I'll just buy into the hype and vote for the Texan Dog!

Meh, I'm one of those people, which you described perfectly.
In my case I voted for Dog, just because I never give a damn about those tournaments or the participants. Also, I don't have enough motivation to look at all of the submitted decklists and make an analysis. I just try to end the voting ASAP.
About your third paragraph - well, there is also the possibility that dog manages to execute his innerfire combo before his opponents find their geist. I know, that the odds may not be in his favour, but the fact that this deck cycles hard shouldn't be ignored. It's not a rare case, when someone finds their winning combo way sooner than the opponent the answer to it, especially when this is a one-off. This decks has a lot of draw and some tutor cards (shadow visions), so nothing is lost. Not to mention, that there is also a crazed alchemist, which will keep dog in the game.

Still a week to vote, probably gonna wait for decklists.
I was also thinking Viper looked like a good bet.

thanks. not sure if I know them, will have to look them up.
Yeah this is probably the best bet. thanks.
I voted dog out of sheer simpaty and turna with my other account to be patriothic
And i don’t even play Paladins
kolento
Decks are out now and I've already added them to the site. We'll have a separate post for them soon but you can already find them here: https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks?filter-deck-tag=1&filter-search=hct summer championship.
Who I personally voted for I won't tell, my public backing would spell doom on that player's hopes of winning.
I voted Dog, but knowing my record, enjoy your 1 pack Dog voters ;D

I can't understand this "Dog-Hype" to be honest.

I always vote Fr0zen, but he is not there then randomly choose Leaoh.
