I just qualified for Season's 1 Challangers Finals. Is there any information about it, or does anyone know what's the system? I really wouldn't like to see BO3 again as it is way less about skill than BO5 in my opinion.
Hey man, congrats...there is a pretty comprehensive guidebook in description of Blackclaws challenger cups, I've found out everything I needed there...
I also tried to play some tournaments, didn't qualify yet but I'm hoping I will :) I am also unsatisfied with the bo3 format, it's not ideal but it's probably because of time restrictions (tourneys last for at least 5-6 hours with bo3, imagine if it were a bo5...)
(Btw, do you mind if I ask you what lineup did you use to qualify, and what did you ban/target? Just ssshhh, hopefully not a lot of people will see it except me :D)
Reading from the official rules it will be Bo3 Conquest with one ban. It will be a Swiss Tournament with Single Elimination playoffs, much like the regional Championships are. If there are a lot of players, there will be multiple brackets and the brackets are played in two separate days should there be more than 129 players in the tournament.
For more info, here's a direct link to the rules. Chapter 4.5 on 8th page for Challenger Finals rules.
(And thanks for that link AUzg, couldn't find the link to the rules from Blizzard's official site even though I knew I had seen the rules before. Blizz please. And good luck with your challenger cups too!)
No problem; it's my first year of playing in tournaments (I've been playing HS since just after Beta), and it was all honestly a bit confusing, until I found those documents :)
So, big thanks to the Blackclaws team if anyone from there is on hearthpwn ;)
And, thank you @FrostyFeetEU, I'll really need the luck the way the game sometimes is :D

Thanks, I started with classic lineup (Raza Priest, Cubelock, Tempo Rogue), but Rogue just got destroyed by whatever you didn't ban. So i started to target Priests, that was pretty bad idea as they always come with some ridiculous plays and if they have ideal 5/8 turns you just can't counter them with anything. So i changed my focus to Warlock and i did it on 2nd try. My lineup was Secret Mage with IB, Nova and Pyro, Classic cycle Raza Priest and Aggro Paladin with double Spellbreaker.

Thank you very much, even though I am not happy with these informations. I feel like BO3 is too random, I understand that online Swiss where you have to wait untill last match is finished would be super long with BO5 but still. Hopefully post-nerf meta will change these matches where the winner is decided on mulligan, then it should be fine even with best of 3.
Thank you for the info, much appreciated! Yeah, sounds just like my experience, I had the same lineup, and Tempo Rogue (and Raza Priest) didn't quite do good enough for me...gonna try something different for next time :)
