I am curious on peoples thoughts on if spoofing your location violates the Terms of Service or EULA for Hearthstone.
My thoughts are that due to the high number of spoofing going on, due to peoples isolated geographical location, disabilities, inability to find transportation and age, it would be unwise to ban or suspend people regarding something that has zero effect on gameplay.
On the other hand, they reserve the right to discontinue service for anyone for any reason.
Did anybody who spoofed, give second thought to it, or regret their decision?
I spoke with Blizzard support just a few minutes ago. They said while they aren’t currently issuing any bans for this, it violates the TOS and could potentially put your account at risk. I doubt they will ban anyone for this, but I’m gonna pass just to be safe.
I contacted blizzard support too about this and this is what they said about getting nemsy through other ways than fireside gathering if anyone is going to get nemsy do it with an alt account.
“As for gaining it through other means, we would not encourage nor support such actions, and if something goes wrong, we won't be able to assist you with recovery due to this, so please take any actions with great caution, or avoid them completely.”
It seems like this is something that they frown upon but may be unwilling to act upon.
From what I know spoofing has been going on combined with using payment walls and vpns for those who are ineligible for Amazon Prime events and other issues that haven't been global. There has been no evidence that they are issuing suspensions or bans regarding these things. There is no evidence either that the amount of people who created secondary accounts for Morgl were ever given warnings, bans or suspensions.
However, it seems evident that there has been a large amount of gps and tavern fraud in this event so I'm thinking they may issue a statement (probably not since blizzard has always failed in communications to it's customer base) or change how things are in the future.
I do not think the negative press from mass banning players for cosmetic items with no bearing on gameplay would be a wise decision but it is a risk that people should consider. It would be easy to find those who have spoofed if they keep any records of gps location.
My guess is if they see people who jumped a certain amount away from their previous location, got Nemsy and back may have Nemsy revoked and issued a warning at the worst.
But from what others have reported from Blizzard they probably won't act on this.
TL;DR Blizzard customer service has been quoted as saying spoofing is against policy but seems unlikely to act. Proceed at your own risk. Get her legitimately if able.
Spoofing your location to get nemsy is essentially a victimless crime, and Blizzard is NOT going to ban paying customers over a free cosmetic item that has zero impact on gameplay.
It is very much against TOS to spoof, but Blizzard is unlikely to ban you over acquiring a cosmetic that is essentially free anyway. They would be well within their rights to do so if they wanted to, but again, it's highly unlikely.

Yesterday I made the direct question to the official twitter account (Link), maybe it wasn't the more elegant way to know this but I wanted to try it :P . They had not answer yet.

I feel like the risk is minimal.
I want to know if exists any official statement (tweet, forum post) about spoofing and get your account banned. I didn't found anything at the moment.

Thank you both for contacting them about it.

Their player base slowly declines - why would they ban potential wallets over something like this?
I wouldn't say unlikely to act. Just not currently acting.
And blizzard does have prior history of mass bans for "exploits".
I personally would not risk it
