Hi guys and gals! I'm a 1-week old player of the game but so far, I really have enjoyed this evolved version of chess. So here's my situation which I hope you guys will shed light. On my 2nd pack, I got a golden legendary (harrison jones). I did some research and found out that the maximized utility for this card is for high-tier-level games and personally, I seldom find it useful "at my current level."
Should I DE this card and craft more useful cards for me atm like epics, rares or even another legendary?; which will in turn help me progress and farm gold or should I keep it for the future? I'm planning to play in the long term since I really love the game.
Keep it. If you plan to play long term you're likely to get every regular card, but to get a duplicate golden legendary you need to open thousands of packs.
The only two cards I'd consider dusting it off for is either Sylvanes windrunner or Dr. Boom. Right now I recommend you keep it since you won't know what you will get from your packs. A side note is that building a large collection is a gradual thing, meaning that the dust will help in the short term but hurt the long term when you need Harrison Jones back.

If you look closely, you can see this is a signature and not a comment. Why are you reading? Stop reading this. Did you read this too? Dang you must like reading.
A golden Legendary is pretty nice and you may want to keep it just for posterity. If you are brand spanking new to the game I would suggest working out what you want for 1600 dust. Goldens are purely an aesthetic and don't give you any extra boost. As a F2P player I have very few goldens in the collection and a lot of the one I have got, I d/e'd for something else I wanted.
I have yet to uncover a Harrison and none of my decks have suffered due to a lack of him. Sure he looks great, you see a lot of streamers run him in decks full of high value class cards and other legendarys BUT by the sounds of things, you don't have that option yet. Ideally you want to be able to give yourself as much flexibility as you can. To put it into context, if you wanted to get 2 Ancient of Lore and 2 Ancient of War you currently have the option to do this if you d/e Harrison.
There are a lot of amazing cards that work in a multitude of decks that are not legendarys. Alternatively, craft yourself something like Boom or Antonidas or another legendary that is independently good.
I'd probably keep it as my first legend was also Harrison Jones and it does help but it is situational as you need to wait most times. Unfortunately for me I only have normal and got my first legendary after 22 packs. I keep most of my cards and only really ever disenchant duplicates. I say keep it and keep playing. Golden legendary are great. I have a Golden Hogger and it never works but i still keep it cause its golden. Just keep trying to get more cards and expand your collection. As you acquire more and more cards you'll grow as a player and reach higher ranks and have more fun. Have fun and enjoy Hearthstone! :D
You're right that you won't need it just yet, but then again there is no one card you need just yet. Right now you are still exploring the classes, getting better at playing the game and building up a collection of basic cards to use. Harrison Jones is one of the more useful neutral Legendary cards and you will definitely want one in your collection in the long term. It's true that it is not quite as useful as something like Dr. Boom. Maybe some time in the future, when you are trying to build a competitive deck to make a run at legend rank, you might have to make that decision. But now is not the time to be making those kinds of choices. Dr Boom might even be nerfed by that point.
I am a strong believer in NOT dusting cards, as if you get in the habit of doing this... You will likely never have a solid/full collection, not to mention the 300% loss in dust isn't usually worth it.
Though golden cards are another story, purely aesthetic and DE for the full cost of another regular card of your choice. I would suggest DEing the golden Harrison for either a Dr. Boom or Sylvanas. I also HIGHLY discourage you from using the dust to make any rares/commons/epics. Use the dust to craft another legendary.
Try your hardest to not craft anything less than a legendary, as over time you will get basic cards through opening packs, and it really suchs when you craft a card only to get it a week or two later in a pack and just wasted 300% dust.

Yeah I have a Millhouse which everyone says to dust but I actually haven't since its a legendary and my real goal is just to collect all cards in the game. The only way I've gotten cards so far is through packs, no real money, and some arena runs.
PLEASE I beg you DO NOT dust Harrison yet! He's neutral and many decks play weapons so he'll always be useful. If you play regularly you'll quickly get enough gold and dust to make any cards you want. I'd hold him for a few months at least until he's won you a few games. By then you'll know which play-style you prefer and which cards you need for decks you wanna play most.
Still have my first and only golden lgdry (Tirion). I mainly play Paladin for dailies, but I wouldn't dust him for anything.
I played a lot on EU server, but now I decided start to play on NA server using my experience and see what will happend if I will play without donating any money.
So now I don't have any cards at all. Quite a strange feeling compare with my EU account :)
My plan is to play only arenas with different classes to open all basic cards, win some gold and then start to buy with this gold Naxx and BRM.
Probably my first classes that I will start to play on ladder after this will be face hunter and zoo :) But of course it depends on cards that I will receive from arena.
P.S. If I will receive golden Harrison Jones I will keep it. Maybe it's a little bit situational, but it's a good card for many decks.
Thank you guys for your responses!! Although your opinions are mixed, it gave very valuable insights. I decided to keep the card because of 2 reasons: 1) Since, I'm playing for the long term, sometime when I grind up the ladder, I'm pretty sure Harrison will play "some" role. Maybe for now, i don't realize its importance since I'm facing people with cards not as sophisticated as I would be facing in the upper part of the ladder. 2) I'm a former pokemon cards enthusiast, and now, the feeling of "collecting" cards is kind of nostalgic bringing back my childhood experiences; Harrison will be the first step in my quest to "catch 'em all," so to speak.
In any case, although my reply is a little bit TOO late, thank you again for helping me come up with my decision.
BTW: I crafted myself a mech mage deck both from the dust and cards I get in arena which help earn gold incredibly fast! As a new player, I think arena is good avenue for me where I average 5 wins; enough to have more than break even!!
the truth about harrison jones is the only decks who use him are decks HUGE 12,000 dust deck like control warrior. hes a good card probably 10th best legendary out there. but fits in a very specific role. whereas a legendary like dr boom is played in EVERY control deck. personally i would dust him get dr boom. its up to you though. i would just look up control warrior on youtube see if you like it.
Harrison is a great card man, I don't play 15k control warrior decks and have won many games with him (the feeling you get when your opponent plays doomhammer and you have him in hand is unique :D), if you dust him, you will eventually craft him again meaning the only thing you did is lose the gold from the card...
Never disenchant good golden cards if you have only one copy of them, if you ever get another non-golden Harrison you should consider it.

Do you likeKnife Juggler, Goblin Blastmage, Faceless Manipulator or are there some class cards like Savannah Highmane or Eaglehorn Bow that you want but don't have yet? 1600 gets you a lot of cards and if the likelihood of you not using Harrison Jones is quite high then dusting might be an option.
