well today and yesterday i confirmed whats being on my mind lately. the vast majority of this game community just netdecks and doesnt try anything before a famous streamer approves it and play it. hungry dragon is an amazing 4 drop the best in the game and people are still playing shredders. in 80-90% of my games my hungry dragons proved to be superior than shredders. most of the times they traded 2 and 3 times before dying and they also traded higher mana cost minions like belcher and loatheb. i know shredder has 2 bodies but i also know that hes dying with every basic removal in the game while fireguard destroyer and hungry dragon may not have 2 bodies but their 1 body requires either hard removal ( so your big threats are better now) or trading IF they have a board. when i play fireguard destroyer on turn 4 theres no way hes leaving the board unless my opponent spends a valuable card like fireball or a hard removal. so please, use your brains a little. i texted one of my friends who is legend 200 about how amazing was hungry dragon in my games and he sai " he is only played in dragon paladin". seriously?
people are scared of the one drop the enemy gets, even though the majority of them have only 1 health, so i say run him in your mage and druid decks.
shredder has the potential to be god himself, dropping milhouse, or a well timed doom sayer, but i agree the dragon is better, but there are cases where shredder will be better.
im rank 10 but i played ranked only for like 4 days. what that does have to do with the topic? i earned legendary before and theres not reason for me to play ranked seriously again. these games i played since yesterday were not even on ranked. but ranked and casual have the same decks. basically its even worse that im not seeing people use hungry dragon even in casual and try him out when theres no competition at all.
I would Agree, people are just lazy and go " im not gonna try and build something myself im gonna just go on hearthpwn or Reddit and look for a deck that is titled "top 50 legend *include class here*" And i would agree wit hunger dragon being insane.
it's such a pleasure to come up to a non-netdeck, but yeah most people are too lazy to play their own creation, has nothing to do with which rank you play.
Weapon classes benefits from him, because they can use their weapon's charge to clear the one drop most of the time. He could be tested in some rogue and warrior decks (not patron ones ofc). But: Shaman has fireguard, so there's no point in adding him. Druid needs sticky minions in order to use savage so he will still play shredder. Hunter? Nope. No face SMOrc. Zoo? nah too slow. Demonlock? not a demon. we have Voidcaller. Handlock? Twilight is better. Priest? i believe they will still prefer Dragonkin Sorcerer. Mech mage? not a mech. Freeze mage? Not needed. Midrange mage? Nah, we have Water Elemental.
I agree that the card has potential, but not in the already existing decks
lol yeah well youre kinda right the only thing i know for sure cause i tested thoroughly is that normal midrange druid > dragon druid and dragon druid will never be a thing ever. the other thing i tested thoroughly is that youre mistaken about shaman. i played more than 50 games with a midrange shaman deck which had 2x fireguard destroyer and 2x hungry dragon and i had maybe over 70% win rate (in casual). midrange decks can afford more than 2 four mana minions. but youre right on the spot about the other decks you mentioned

I think he was asking about your rank because that can often influence how original people are and even the likelihood of whether they will have the latest wing unlocked.

The concept of most people netdecking rather than making their own decks is a very old concept (even before the concept of an internet) that's pretty much expected. It's based on this concept:
This is actually based on new technologies. When a new product appears, only a very small percentage of people take it up. It's sensible since this is known as the bleeding edge where untested and risky items exist. Only after Innovators test and show that the item is worthwhile do the rest of the population start taking it in the rates that you see above.
This rhythm occurs for other items as well including decks. Only a very small percentage of people craft new decks, and of them even fewer actually do a good job of it. From there early adopters grab the decks that aren't pure trash and test and tweak it. These are the 'famous straemers' you are talking about. From there, it reaches the majority and becomes The Meta.
Now, I'm assuming this isn't really a rant against netdecking and more of a post wondering why people haven't adapted to the new card even though you see it as superior to the current card. The first line of this post and some of the harsher replies are because talk of netdecking the way you did tends to be a way to express hate for the concept and how "everyone should make their own decks.. like I do." Followed by some explanation why their way if the best and netdecking should be eliminated from the world. It's a pretty old and tired concept. The 'what's your rank' is part of that as many tend to swear that they are really good at the game and that everyone is "just trash no skill netdeckers."
So yeah. For Drag to show up to the majority, it'll need a deck crafter (innovator) to make one and a tournamentor or streamer (early adopter) to prove it on the field. Then it'll go big. Won't take long though: HS is pretty good at pushing a new deck into the meta. Until then, enjoy the Shredder party for a little longer.
Also expect A LOT of snark due to the first part of your post. I know I had to pause a bit to avoid a kneejerk reaction and most won't wait that long. Unless I misread and you really were dissing on 'netdeckers'. If so, then yeah, be ready for the flames :P.
people are scared of the one drop the enemy gets, even though the majority of them have only 1 health, so i say run him in your mage and druid decks.
Iv played a lot arena today and i must say, Hungry Dragon is absolutely crazy when played on curve and if u have any minion left from previous trade so u can kill the 1drop (sometimes even that minion from before doesnt die to 1 drop so its even better) and when your opponent has 5/6 out on turn 3 or 4, ur basicly dead if u dont have hard removal and even if u do, u will spend your entire turn 4 removing Hungry Dragon and your opponent will just play 5drop or just about anything to keep up pressure. This card is so f*** up lol. U can have super good deck and this card alone will stop u and u cant do shit about it, if u had bad mulligan.
I would imagine this is also very good in constructed, especialy in warrior, pally or rogue, where u can "waste" Winaxe or Lights Justice swing to kill that 1drop.
I like playing Hungry Dragon in my Dragon Priest deck (which I made on my own btw), you just have to set up the board in a way that, when you play Hungry Dragon you are able to get rid of whatever he summons before the enemy has a chance to make use of it.
Play midrange hunter and tell me again that Hungry Dragon is better than Piloted Shredder. It's not better in every deck, and the few times it's been played against me, the 1-drop they gave me wasn't inconsequential. I tested it out in dragon pally, yes, it's better than Shredder there, but that's not only because of dragon synergy but because of Coghammer and Muster for Battle played on turn 3 allowing you to clear a 1-drop very efficiently. And I don't think Hungry Dragon is better than Shredder in Mech Mage either.

I think the op is just mad he can't get any upvotes on his decks which oddly enough are just copies of other decks. Where are your original decks? Please present them for the approval of the public if you're going to criticize people for netdecking.
Move along people, just another person on a soap box who should probably just get off the internet for a few days.
lol the decks im creating here are not the decks im using. most of the decks i made here were for the trophies and i dont even care about upvotes in decks where i dont even have a description or i just made for tests/trophies. the guy with the diagram was right about the hate.
Well, the blame isn't JUST on them. In any group it's always good to watch for (to use the Newagey term) 'triggers' that threaten to cause your topic to derail as everyone grabs on what they think you are saying. Yes, it means that they were skimming instead of reading, but unless you are trolling it means you aren't going to get the conversation you want.
Because of the 'netdecking' start (which again even I first thought you were just being salty about) you can be pretty sure this thread is effectively dead in the water. Everyone will fuss at you as "yet another person with snowflake decks whining like an angsty teen" and your actual topic will be gone. Simply flipping the two topics (starting with how good hungry dragon is, how weak Shredder is, then following with the thoughts that everyone is sticking the shredder because they are netdecking and not actually trying hte new card for themselves) and removing the 'netdeckers' item from the toipc would keep your actual point and would've resulted in everyone talking about shredder vs Dragon.
As for myself, I actually can't debate the two. I didn't expect BRM to come early so my gold grind was ruined. I won't get hungry dragons for a few more days and will probably be a week behind on week 5 *GRUMBLEGRUMBLE!*. A pity since I have a druid deck I made that and a rogue control deck (!) I netdecked that would LOVE the card. However, my speculation is that it'll be like harvest golems. People held on to golems for a while after GvG but eventually realized that 3/4 really is better in the meta and eventually gave up on it. Shredder will go a similar way.
Myself I cna't wait to be rid of shredder. He's great value but adds a lot of RNG. I'm not anti-RNG but I deem RNG something you should remove from your deck as much as possible. ANY card that can potentially ruin your game to the point where people who KNOW they lost pop him just for the chance to win is a card you need to remove the second you can.

You say that "Hungry Dragon is an amazing 4 drop the best in the game." This is not true.
Heck, I like everything about Hungry Dragon, the artwork is better, and simply put, it's a "cooler" card, but that doesn't mean I'm going to say it's better just cause I think it is cool.
The case could easily be made that Piloted Shredder is still better.
Hungry Dragon has 4 more stats than Piloted Shredder, which is worth about 2 mana.
Shredder gets the 2 mana minion that the Deathrattle drops.
Hungry Dragon gives the opponent a 1 mana minion.
Add it all up and Piloted Shredder has 1 more mana worth of value.
Even if you kill the one drop, it still costs you something to kill it, even a Rogue weapon from hero power means you used 1 mana to kill the 1 mana minion.
So you say that Hungry Dragon is unequivocally better than Piloted Shredder, but this is simply not true.
Shredder is like a mini-Boom. It doesn't really matter when you play him, his average combined stats are higher than any other 4 drop, and he has Deathrattle stickiness, so you almost always get value. IMO unless you are playing a Dragon deck, or using Hungry Dragon to combo with MCT or a board clear, or have a very good reason to use Hungry Dragon, then Piloted Shredder is still the better non-situational 4 drop.
BTW i like Hungry Dragon, had some tests yesterday, will do some more later today after work :)
But as others have pointed out, im finding it kind of situational, because u cant drop it when u dont have board control, things can go pretty wrong if u do so. At the same time, its pretty rare that u dont have anything onboard to kill the one drop, if ure playing some kind of aggro deck.

Question to OP. What rank are you right now then?
I still prefer Shredder over Hungry Dragon in the current meta. That does make me a netdecker?
Just imagine, not all share your opinion that Hungry Dragon is that superior.

Hearthstone is a game of "copy and pasting"
it depends on what kind of deck you are running.
for combo druid, oil rogue, and obvioulsy mech mage, i still prefer shredder
against board clears, shredder will leave behind a 2 drop, where hungry dragon may have none.
i think shredder and hungry dragon are both good, i don't think one is better than the other.
it's such a pleasure to come up to a non-netdeck, but yeah most people are too lazy to play their own creation, has nothing to do with which rank you play.
