Hey guys, im gonna cry a bit, not gonna lie, but I have been playing heartstone for a while and i just missed old days when u could actually play minions because they were good, and not just because they can win u the game in turn 5. Im a bit tired of combo decks, but after last exp, not even theotar is useful. I think we need a biig round of little nerfs to all classes that can kill u from hand. Lets see what u think respectfully so we can have a debate.
- Rogue: Draka 5 mana, location 3 mana, kobold make the copy cost 4 (not 4 less), the card which draw a DR costs 4.
- druid: astalor no longer a battlecry, manathrist (4): deal 2 damage and give u the 5 mana astalor. Brann only duplicates first battlecry. They are neutral i know but who cares, they are druid cards.
- Warlock: revert buffs on all curse cards. 2 mana draw cards for each imp (-1 draw). Philactery no longer is a shadow spels
- DH: kurtrus HP gain 1 damage
Maybe thats enough for a while. Sorry for my english and what do u think? I think the meta needs a shake so we can face any warrior, dk, pala or priest. Even i miss mage god damn.
Even though it's not the best, I still play Dragon Paladin with Kaza and it does hold up quite nicely, but a Rogue with 24/35 states on turn 5 is impossible to break through unless I discovered multiple equalities. Definitely not as fun when things aren't even balanced at this point.
I think the problem is every class has insane draw, every class that is good has insane mana cheat. So every class can get to their solo player game faster, and then cheat it out. It is boring even when you are the one popping off!!
I understand Hearthstone isn't and won't be the same as 5 years ago, and they are printing insane synergies. Go ahead and print insane synergies, but you cant let people draw and mana cheat like this! Every expansion that has mana cheat and draw is a busted expansion.
And enough of the neutral discover. How about just Scorpid or School Teacher. But no, we have Amalgam, Sketchy Stranger, Nerubian Vizier, Pandaren Importer, Scorpid, Scoundrel, School Teacher. It is not unreasonable to discover 10+ effects in one game. AND THAT'S JUST THE NEUTRAL DISCOVER.
IDK, how about some class identity, how about classes have strengths and weaknesses, How about aggro, midrange, control, combo all being in the meta at once, game ending combos should not be active on turn 6 that is just stupid. Enough draw, enough mana cheat, enough discover.
Kurtus is leaving standard very soon and it isn't currently really a combo card. It is also weak to taunt.
Astalor is definitely not just a druid card.
Curse card are not tier 1 right now and I don't think they need to be nerfed. Are you aware that you almost never should spend the 2 mana to stop them from pinging you? If you have 1 curse card in hand, they can't mill you next turn. Phylactery is also about to leave standard, I believe.
I also miss playing cool minions because they had cool effects and not just as part of an otk. The good news is that combo decks tend to be more powerful when there are more expansions available in standard. I doubt blizzard will make major changes now because the next expansion will also rotate out a lot of combo pieces.
There is a lot of complaining about bad decks here. First off, the “nerfs” you suggested are so heavy handed they kill the cards. Nobody is going to be playing draka and locations at those costs and phylactery warlock is already bad. There needs to be some combo decks to keep hourlong control decks at bay, remember barrens priest or boomsday warrior? Blizzard has said their core design philosophy is shifting to making neutral ways to end games, hence denathrius and astalor.
The biggest issue I see is that the death knight class fell flat. The most played class is one of the weakest classes. This was supposed to be a controlling and board centric class and it is weak, resulting in a meta where single player solitaire decks and previously strong decks reign. Look up plaguespreader priest if you want to counter rogue, druid and warlock.
You got a point on kultrus, and astalor yeah, but druid is the class which can abuse him. I agree that if bran is nerfed astalor could stay as it is.
Curse is not tier 1 because is a new expac and people is playing other decks, but yeah it is a tier 1 deck. Has almost infinite damage with insane opening and draw with imps. And of course i know that, im priest main, if u dont keep some curse in hand i instant lose. Even i have been playing location to be always at 10 cards so he cant play curses. But they buffed those card before the 5 mana legendary, and now is busted AF. Also, it would be 3 3/4 to 2/3 and the 3 mana spell to cost 4, wold not destroy the deck.
I agree that we need otk to have controls in check, the problem is that is a very polarise match up, like 80% WR because of 40 hp (i assume renathal is goint to wild, i sware god). Philactery warlock is the most polarising deck in hearthstone.
I think one of location or draka must be done, preferebly draka. At 5 shes ok. Just one turn more to have a 12/3 weapon is ok. But i would prefer dr roggue to be nerfed.
Antoher problem of DK is that has not a strong wincon. Unholy is weaker than blood pala and imp warlock, frost dk just kill u from hand and also not very powerpufl because of 40 hp, and blood Dk cant relay on a 7 mana deal 3 damage to win. I expect some kind of buff to some of his cards.
Personally I think this meta is basically Yu-Gi-Oh garbage. Absurd power creep has led to a prevalence of solitaire decks that have the power to essentially win in 3-4 turns and barely interact with the opponent.
It's a shame because the new DK class is fun to play and I am still enjoying playing against opponents in casual mode who are occasionally at least still trying to experiment with some of the new cards and less popular classes.
But in regards to the strongest decks I hope they don't take too long to rebalance because I'd rather not play the game than play against ramp druid/DR rogue/miracle rogue/Discolock(wild) currently who all just play their own game and are the highest tier.
