I usually send a friend request after long well fought game. I appreciate a well played match and send a friend request to complement and thank them on a game well played, but notice no one accepts friend requests. Many times I am on the losing side. I guess they are thinking I am trying to vent frustrations and send insults? Or really sour if they lost.
I usually play in dumpster legend trying out different decks.
Anyone else notice no one accepts friend requests anymore?
I accept, but I may wait until later. I have had good experiences accepting right away from someone who wanted to congratulate me.
Tangent: I can't observe friends anymore. I have the observe a friend quest, but the option to observe is no longer there. Just the play arrow for each friend. Anyone know what setting I've messed up?
I usually don't accept because my last 3 that i accepted (a few months ago after picking up the game again after a 2 years break) were just people being toxic and wanting to insult me after losing (while i've always tried not to play decks that could be considered toxic or unpleasant to play against) so i just always assume the worst now and prefer refusing friend requests, at the price of maybe refusing well-meaning ones, because the cost of receiving toxic ones just outweighs it, to me.
It's a shame and tbf, with the new report system added in, maybe that could change, but yeah i would assume that most people are similarly refusing to protect themselves from toxicity.
"anymore" never accepted them since closed beta. Or I accept them weeks later out of boredom and they don't even remember me so I remove them immediately.
90% of them will call me names, or worse my mother. I 'm too old to face this for the sake of the honest 10%, sorry. It's not like we will become actual friends anyway. I know when it was a good game, no need to tell me, don't worry.
I honestly stopped accepting them a while ago. Most of those were salty anyways and I use to have someone looking at my computer/profile so not worth having them read what some people think of my mother.
Actually the number should increase, since (after only 8 years) they've managed to implement the "Report" Feature, now there should be more Trust among players.
Well that's all hypothetically ...

90% are toxic so not worth taking the chance.

Some of the most vile conversations I've ever had have been after accepting a friend request.
Folks just lose their minds about Hearthstone it seems.

blame all the people who call me mean names then unfriend
Why would I take the chance to add some random asshole who will just spam some random bs at me and then insta delete me?
