With just 16 cards left in the competition, we move onto Round 3. This week's matchups are sure to be tough as the remaining field is filled with powerful and exciting choices. We'll once again vote for all four regions: Kalimdor, Outland, Northrend, and the Eastern Kingdoms.
KALIMDOR:
MATCH 1: Leeroy Jenkins vs. Shudderwock
MATCH 2: Ragnaros the Firelord vs. Edwin VanCleef

NORTHREND:
MATCH 1: Dr. Boom vs. Sylvanas Windrunner
MATCH 2: The Lich King vs. Bloodmage Thalnos
EASTERN KINGDOMS:
MATCH 1: Reno Jackson vs. Zephrys the Great

Oh man, Zephrys against Reno... that's a tough one.
The Wish Granter versus "the wish granter".
In the end I had to go with Reno because he's just such a lovable character in all his many forms.
"MaAAaagic!"
If things continue as they are, we are losing the last 2 Class cards this round, leaving only Neutral Legendaries for the final few rounds. Not unexpected, but still notable.

Dr. Boom vs Sylvanas is tough. I think Dr. Boom was more impactful from a purely hearthstone perspective, but Sylvanas has the lore behind her.
I am rooting for Leeroy all the way!
I’ve got a good feeling about this…
I'm sad for Alexstrasza, Shudderwock and Edwin. They all had such great payoffs when you made the right deck for them.
That said, Alexstrasza had to fight the God of Memes, Shudderwock the Ancient Meme, and Edwin one of the most beloved cards of all times.
Sylvanas vs Boom is a huge one, but in the end, Banshee Queen for the win.
And Reno vs Zeprhys... well, Reno is just too good. He and Rafaam are the best characters Hearthstone ever came up with (Dr. Boom being close but not good enough).

Dr. Boom is not actually a Hearthstone character. His personality was expanded upon and embelished, but he was part of a questline in the Burning Crusade expansion of WoW way back in the early 2000's already.
Fun fact: Ranged Damage classes used Dr. Boom to test their damage before World of Warcraft got Training dummies to do this on in a more practical manner. :)

Totally random quest mob turned into one of the greatest heroes of HS (or villains :P). It's awesome
I knew about the origins of Dr.Boom, I'm a WoW player myself... but let's face it, Dr.Boom as a character is entirely a work of Hearthstone.

I must say -- I'm surprised to see Sylvanas Windrunner pulling away from Dr. Boom.
I really expected to see him in the final four, if not further.
I guess it depends on the motivation for voting.
I'd say a lot of people voting might be voting for the character and not necessarily the Hearthstone card in this one.
I was pretty fascinated with her as a character even back before she got redesigned in WoW: and I mean... for anyone who doesn't remember, she used to look like this:
So, you know... it's not always about the sexy pixels.
I tried to make my choice strictly on the cards themselves. I voted for Sylvanas because to this day it is my favorite card art. Plus the effect can be fun - had some good times wit her in deathrattle hunter meme decks.
Man is the Thaurissan vs C'thun intense. I voted dwarf because they're awesome and thaurissan has been a beast for ages.

I will say -- I've never played WoW. So, my votes are strictly based off Hearthstone. When I started both these cards were very powerful, and it was a tough choice for sure.
There is some rough fight between C'thun and Thaurissan, huh? I prefer C'thun, but I admit that Thaurissan had more influence in meta through the hearthstone history, yet C'thun has much more unique gameplay, now there are similar decks, like Galakronds, Jade Golems or Librams, but C'thun is the original, and my vote goes to him.
