It's just for you to be able to talk with your friends across all regions but your card collection is still tied to an specific region so you can't play across regions. Or well, you can, but you need 2 separate collections.

Wait, guys, did I read it wrong? I know you can't play across regions right now, but aren't they working on such a thing according to the article, even if they didn't mention it specifically?
“We look forward to a future where billions of players worldwide can make friends and play together, regardless of where they are and what device they play on.”
"These backend updates to Battle.net will also enable developers to build even more globally connected experiences for our players in the future, so stay tuned!"
Maybe I'm being too optimistic, I don't know... XD
I hope you are right, and even though i am active on all 3 regions, being able to play against anyone from any region means you can join any open cups you want. But that's not possible yet, and it's not hard to change for them. I feel like they won't make this change very soon, if ever...
If "crossplay" happens, murrican players will be so fcked when they finally meet skilled players.
I know, you will down vote me, but since i play on all three regions, i can assure you, us server is the most easiest region, while the asia server is the most creative.

I know it is not easy, but let's try to stay positive on this one. :)

:D
the card collection barriers remain, sadly.
