In Paladin they don’t need support. You just play Party Up! and attack with the new weapon, give all them Divine Shield, and then play Conviction next turn if they stick around.

You can spend 3 mana on summoning 5 recruits instead of 7 to make them a tiny bit better.
I think there will be support for adventurers in all 3 expansions this year. By "support" I mean more cards that generate adventurers, not necessarily more synergy.
They are clearly tied to the mercenaries thematically. Mercenary is you when you were young and started playing WoW and adventurers are the 4 braindead pick up players from the LFR feature.
This year's cycle is based on exploration of low level zones and dungeons.
And I think people are sleeping on some of these cards from the mini-set.
Maybe we will see druid and priest adventurers in the next expansion ?
There's something wrong in their way of maintaining this game:
Do something new.
New thing is bad (or at least not good enough), so nobody plays it.
Abandon it and move on to the next idea.
Does this mean they are unable to evaluate card's power before its launch and predict how it will perform in the meta? Or maybe they can, but they do it on purpose? Either way, it's strange to me. I reject the idea that they lack competence, so it has to be something else.

They probably will get as much support as the Caravans.
Giving filler cards an interesting recurring flavour seems to be the dev's new MO.
Ceterum censeo classum magi esse delendam.
Just another semi-interesting mechanic that they will completely forget about next expansion after printing it as an after thought

Honestly, i hope not, it's not that interesting of a mechanic. And if they were good, then even more games would be decided by rng
