Sorry for the negativity, but I have been playing since Nax, 20,000 wins and have never been more disappointed in the meta for both standard and wild.
I have always been a staunch defender of the game and routinely told people to build decks if they want to counter certain things. I was surprised the first iteration of secret Paladin and secret mage was not nerfed but here we are again years later and it’s worse than ever.
I am not saying this to bash the game or the players or anything like that. I am simply begging Blizzard to gain awareness of how terrible the game is right now. I have hope it can be fixed but I need to take a break for a while and cannot return until it is.
A break would definitely do you some good. I’ve taken a few over the years & it does wonders for me personally. But I do have to say, if you actually think Blizzard cares about wild then I have a bridge to sell you.
I play since closed beta and I can say this is by far one of the worst metas there has ever been. And i know, coz I lived them all. At this point i gave up on standard, trying to get as high as possible for monthly reward just while doing quests, for normal game its battlegrounds or duels. The original secret paladin was cool, becouse they actualy had to draw into mysterious challenger and not use their secrets, and even if they did, you could use 1 card to totaly ruin their day. These days there is no defense becouse they are aggro, tempo and bullshit together. Same for other classes. Its like everything in HS has been streamlined to the as quick, short and infuriating as possible. Unless blizzard makes new expansion which is CONTROL ONLY then people wont come back. And spare me the usual talk of "people dont want slow games, people want face, people need cheap effective deck...". I DONT CARE. I DONT GIVE A FUCK. FUCK YOU. Been there, heard that shit every single expansion, and what we get now is result of your constant whining. You want to play? Pick one of these 3 decks others hate o gtfo - thats what we have now
Honestly I've played for a very long time too and I think its okay. I'm top 7k legend and I play a mix of everything im having a blast tbh. Might be worse on the ladder though you just probably play pala.
OP, if you use words like "I am now FORCED" or "I am BEGGING Blizzard", then yeah, you should take a break right now, not after you finish your daily quests. Blizzard is aware that the meta isn't enjoyable and they believe the mini set will make things better. Sure, they could be wrong but if that happens, it's not because they are incompetent, but because the mini-set was designed in advance when they didn't knew what the meta will be and they can't make changes before the release.
Anyway, have a good day and remember: "Hearthstone and competitive games in general are not worth getting upset for." Seriously, they're just games and nothing more.
I see that it is not the best meta, but it is far from being the worst. I also play HS since the grand tournament, reached legend many, many, times, have way over 10k wins, finished top200 on multiple occasions. So yea, I have a lot of experience as well.
Many classes are viable, you have aggro decks, midrange decks, control decks that work. No deck is really opressive. The highest winrate deck has a WR of like 54% which is very acceptable.
I dont get how people can scream, worst meta ever. Have they forgotten Patches, Jade Idols, Shamanstone etc? That midrange shaman-meta was so much worse for example!
Recency bias is what people are droning on about. When gadgetzan was out it was the worst, when KOTFT was out it was the worst, when K&C was out it was the worst etc etc.
Expecting changes in wild is pointless, honestly. They'll nerf something that breaks wild and that's about it. Heck, remember the original hysteria nerf? They could revert it and it wouldn't be played at all at this point.
Standard, as they've repeated time and time again, they're not going to touch before the miniset drops as, other than paladin still being too strong for their liking, they're fine with the rest of the meta until new cards are inserted in the game. So, if you really don't like it, no one is forcing you to click on that battlenet icon, take a break and play something else.
To say they don't care seems lazy to be quite honest. They obviously do care, even if only to make money through increased engagement, they care about the state of the game.
Just be objective, highlight why the meta isn't particularly enjoyable for you at this time. I happen to agree, I don't really enjoy standard at the moment and feel an injection of cards is very much needed. Part of this is typical, following a rotation, I generally get a bit bored of the meta much quicker than with the other 2 expansions in a year.
As I said, the lazy accusations of them not caring don't really do anything to further discussion on why the meta is less enjoyable and also bear in mind that whether the meta is enjoyable or not is subjective, some people are very happy with it. I think I've seen every meta described as 'the worst' and usually with the same 'been a player since beta'.
Hysterical, emotional jibes at the devs are pretty much never particularly interesting or convincing and turns a potentially constructive conversation into a salt thread.
The metagame is not currently unbalanced, but there is an issue with the change in design philosophy.
There are powerhouse cards in almost every class that invite build-around decks that lead to a power level we're not used to. A lot of games feel one-sided because one player found their key card earlier than the other. Most games have huge swings that make minor adjustments feel inconsequential, even though they definitely are not.
A lot of players think that balance is the problem, but it is not. Standard mode is more balanced than most past iterations. The problem is that the gameplay has shifted dramatically and for a lot of players it's not what they like.

So basically it's Deathknights but as like, 3 mana cards?
This is by far not the worst meta. There have been a few bad ones but the most boring was probably when Aggro Shaman was tier0.
Depends. I've been control player since beta and I don't remember when the last time control decks were as bad as they are now.
I reached legend with a 70% winrate this season and 79% winrate last season, both with control priest.
And do you remember the jade druid meta?
The problem with control deck right now is simple: in meta you found a lot of deck, and as a control player you need to know every MU too perform well.
Some meta in the past was 3/4 deck meta, and that’s easier for control player.

Strange, I can only talk about Wild EU but the meta seems very healthy there... and I'm playing even Mage no broken shit xD
I saw a lot different decks while climbing and now in Legend too... honestly this is my favourite expansion since release.
At least people aren't building larger and larger green men...
At ladder and at legend I encounter(ed) quite a multitude of decks, so I dont understand your point. N=1 though, but same goes for you.
You could also try some of the other formats. Maybe they can give you the break needed.

They don’t care, it’s a fact

Sorry for my broken english.
I have to admit this post is pure nonsense.
After the latest nerfs the meta is diverse enough, there are lots of competitive decks right now:
Paladin: at least 2 different decks (Secret, Nzoth)
Mage (Spell)
Hunter (Face)
Druid: 2 or 3 totally different decks, all of them viable (Token, Big, Miracle)
Demon Hunter: 2 different decks (Deathrattle, OTK)
Rogue (Miracle)
Warrior (Rush)
Any of these decks can defeat whatever you have.
Warlock and Priest are maybe a little less powerful, but if you have a slower deck they can surprise you any time.
Only hopeless class is actually Shaman.
I don't think this is so bad for a meta.
I'm playing every day, Legend 4-5k rank, and faced all of these decks, so I don't know what are you talking about.
