Someone called this the most hated meta ever. I didn't even think it was close. So, I thought I'd ask you folks what your least favorite meta ever was.
I guess for me it was Shamanstone. Tunnel Trogg into Totem Golem was pretty bad, but then a Tuskar Totemic would drop another Totem Golem and you just couldn't beat them. And their mid game was very strong as well. It seemed like a good year where you either played Shaman or lost to Shaman.
I didn't care for some other especially aggressive metas either. But, they usually could be countered if you tried hard enough.
Favorite meta was old gods. I think that was the best the game has ever been for me.
witchwood meta no doubt in my mind, even shaman and paladin were everywhere spamming call to arms and sea giants, there was also more refined versions of decks that stuck along from previous expansions like spiteful druid and priest, not to mention all the cancer rogue brought in with turn 1 triple keleseth oh and cubelock was a thing too at the time
at least there were some fun decks like odd mage and spell hunter, but spell hunter got absolutely busted when zul'jin rolled out in rastakhan
gotta agree though old god's meta was the best, i could be biased because thats around the time when i got into hearthstone but its not like i havent looked at the history of the game, so i am familiar with metas prior to wotog, and yeah witchwood meta still worse than undertaker meta cant change my mind
I've only been playing for a little more than half a year, but out of this period I would say the Evolve Shaman meta was the most obnoxious one, with Lunacy Mage as a close second. The current meta doesn't even come close, despite Mage still being annoying as hell, but at least not as successful.
I just hate when the meta is dominated by randomness. Soul DH was very dominant at the time, but you always knew what was coming and could at least try to prepare (pun intended) for it. Such metas I don't mind as much.
i played so little since the patch come out just doing my daliys each 3 days... not becouse the meta is bad but becouse i am so focus on my new game that i dont have time to play hs that much this time
early metas are often horrible due to the lack of cards.. big big big lack of cards and on top of that some classes like mage and paladin have been powercreept so hard that it feels like you never face anything else + you cannot really do any tech vs them...
I dunno if I am just lucky since the last balance patch but to me it feels pretty solid now.
There are quite a few very solid decks. It's a bad time for meme decks, also there isnt much varity but thats prolly caused by the relative small card pool.
Some of the better decks are actually not Autopilot, despise public opinion.
The best meta imo was definitly old gods, best Deck patron warrior.
The worst I dont know, I kinda hate heavy rng so I could say the current has many ways to anoy me. Yet... well read above. ^^
100% worst meta since i started playing in kobolds, 90% of games are either against 2 IQ paladins or 1 IQ mages who play cards in curve that insta kill you, theres no way you can play something diferent because of that, and yes, its blizzard fault because of the irrelevant nerfs, but its even more fault of the players that contribute to destroy this game fun by playing those decks that are obviously OP

Yeah it annoys me, too. But realistically speaking: Players won't monitor themselves and say "oh, better not play this deck that gives me easy wins 9/10 times". That's Blizzards job, they're dropping the ball here.
To me it definitely is the worst meta in recent memory. I keep playing against Mage or Paladin about 75% of the time. Rest ist Warlock and maybe 5% something else. Boring as fuck.
The Meta where that weird shaman legendary would spend 20 minutes per battlecry and resummon itself. Didn't touch the game for 2 years after that blunder.

Galavant Animation
The one with Death Stalker Rexxar is still hunting me in my dreams, year of the raven i think it was

Who am I? None of your business!

Ceterum censeo classum magi esse delendam.

Every current meta will be the most hated meta at that moment kekw
The worst meta was mean streets of gadgetzan. Jade was the worst mechanic the have ever been introduced
early metas are often horrible due to the lack of cards.. big big big lack of cards and on top of that some classes like mage and paladin have been powercreept so hard that it feels like you never face anything else + you cannot really do any tech vs them...
very unhealthy meta for sure

undertaker hunter then secret Paladin from the mean streets
Undertaker. That was... rough. Tunnel troggs was also unfun.

Pirate warrior,
and the Omega assembly boom/mech fatigue warrior (40 minute games)
The Meta where that weird shaman legendary would spend 20 minutes per battlecry and resummon itself. Didn't touch the game for 2 years after that blunder.
undertaker after naxx was brutal. lack of healing, taunts, boardclears...
mech mage after that was also pretty bad.
aggro shaman also. but in that time, we got reno and brann.
best one for me was after blackrock.
evergreen post
speaking of ever green, Jade Meta stunk
I think we had like 3 posts with the same name in like 4-5 months and you talk the same stuff as there, whats the point of this ?
Trogg shaman with Flamewaker mage was the most stupid meta ever, maybe mysterious challanger pala for some ppl.
