sorry if this has been answered before, i recently came back to the game and dont have many of the corrupt cards. If I played a deck with Flesh Giant and Strongman, would playing a reduced cost giant still trigger the corrupt since it originally costs 8?
It's basically, what you see is what it costs, as far as corruption goes.
So you can use effects that temporarily reduce the cost of a card for the sake of corrupting it. For example, if you use Preparation, your Nitroboost Poison will appear to cost 0. Then you can use anything that costs 1 or more to corrupt it.
So if your giant looks like it costs 7 or less, it won't corrupt the strongman.
Be very careful, though, as Corrupt cards have one interaction that, if you don't know, can cost you the entire game.
If your Corrupt card has a temporary discount, like for example Tickatus discounted to 5 Mana by Demonic Studies, then when you play a card that is supposed to corrupt it (activator) AND also removes the discount, like for example Priestess of Fury, the system will compare the activator's discounted cost to Tickatus' cost AFTER it loses the discount. So, in this case, the system compares Priestess of Fury's discounted 6 Mana cost to Tickatus' 6 Mana (not 5) cost, and therefore, Tickatus isn't corrupted by Priestess of Fury.

no
Corruption only works if you play a card with higher cost than the card to be corrupted, if it's discounted then won't corrupt because cost is lower
