I'm sorry if this was discussed before, I took a long break from hearthstone and now I'm back wondering if I can reach level 50 without tavern pass until the next expansion. Did blizzard address this or not?
Tavern pass doesnt really matter with or without its a lot of grind .. but to answer your question yes it is .. i got to 23 level already so 4 months is enough.
Yes but the amount of gold and value of everything you will acquire by the end of the expansion would be much lower than it would have been in the previous gold system.
Yes, easily achievable. I'm lkaying quite a lot at the moment by my standards, due to the new expansion, so I'm playing about an hour and a half a day. I'm level 24 and there's months left.
I think the difference may well be in the 150 gold per level, once you've hit 50. How feasible it is to get through too many of those, I'm not sure.
Don't forget that XP is also given by certain achievements. These are in your log and have a chest next to them.
You get a decent amount for finishing duels with 4 wins, then 5, 6 and so on. Doing a few runs of that can boost you a few levels depending on what level you're on.

I understand that for now it looks pretty easy to get xp for leveling up but everytime you reach a level you need more xp for the next one. From rank 16 to rank 17 I need 2500 xp but I don't want to know how much it is needed for level 45 for example. In time it will feel so bad to wait 1 week just to complete 1 level.
And if we are at this, how much xp does the average quest grant? For daily quests I think it's around 1000-1200 with the lowest being 800? And what about the weekly quests? I want to know in order to reroll quests that grant the lowest amount of xp.
it's 1015 exp for Daily quest on Average Weekly are 1750 all of them + the big one is always 2500 (you can do only 1 big Quest every week). So no need to reroll those
Yes, but the last levels will feel HORRIBLE because the last 5 levels take more exp than the first 24 and so you will feel little to no progress on the day to day (it will take roughly a week per level if you do every quest and play several hours a day).

The exp costs have actually been data-mined already and it doesn't look good. Level 45 specifically will take 8,100 exp to complete, while level 49 will take 9,300 exp.

You know this is meant to last 4 months, right? They don't want you at level 50 within 3 weeks.
If they did I'd GUARANTEE there would be complaints because of 'no progression' etc.
It's a 4 month season, they will likely put in more achievements and chances to earn xp through special quests, seasonal events etc. This culture of 'demand everything now' is really tiresome. Stop wanting to complete everything within a week. They want people to play out, collect and enjoy an expansion over a 4 month period. That's very reasonable. If you want something else, maybe a different game caters to your needs.
You don't need to tell me that for now it looks easier. I know full well how it will work. It's basically what I expected and how pretty much EVERY OTHER levelling system works in anything.
How is this causing so much shock and concern? I can't think of any games off the top of my head where the xp you need to go from 20 to 21 is the same as from 4 to 5. I'm sure there are some but they will be outliers. Every rpg, mmo or xp centric game works this way and none of those show you what xp you need in 20 levels time either. You see your progression one level at a time. This is basic stuff. The information is available if you want it, I'm sure. If you don't like this system, fine, that's personal taste but stop acting like it's not REALLY common and that Blizzard have sat there scheming on how to piss their idiot players off.
It's crazy how much hard work this seems to be for this player base. My 11 year old understands how this stuff works in his games for crying out loud.
Not aimed at your personally but this is getting really boring now. I've never known a community like this, it's depressing as hell. I don't think I've seen them do one thing that doesn't get cried about. Every tavern brawl, moaning. Every freebie, moaning. Every expansion, moaning. Every seasonal, moaning. Moan, moan, moan, moan.
And for the OP.. yes. If you do your daily and weekly quests, you will hit level 50 inside the expansion time period. Even if you assume every single daily quest is a minimum value one. Even if you count zero XP from gameplay time (which obviously will not be the case if you do your quests).
Play regularly and you will hit level 50. Comfortably.

Ok calm down buddy. I didn't demand a system that lets me get to level 50 in 3 days. I asked if it's possible without the pass because that thing grants players more xp. And better go back and read again what you wrote, you just said "yeah I am already level X", wow congrats I know you are such a hard gamer that it's impossible for you to miss the fact that xp required increases with each level but it was just a heads up. Even if you know that you can get to level 50 or not, the fact that you have to spend days for one level just feels awful and no, it was not a demand to change this because I know they want to keep people playing throughout the expansion, not just the first few weeks. It was my thought and that's all, if you don't like the fact that people don't think the same as you then you should not visit this forum.
so mathematically, judging by the way the xp cap raises after every level, once you reach say level 40-45, it WILL take you most likely one week to do one level. without the pass it can be rather tedious, yes.
but definitely doable weeks before the next expansion as long as you dont miss out too much quests.
1. Blizzard has very, very good data on our playing habits. It knows how long the average player plays and can very easily plug various types of players into a model to see what level they'll end up at.
2. It has every reason to make it fairly easy for a routine player to hit level 50. It is, in most people's mind, the target. If lots of people fail to reach that, they'll get discouraged and leave the game. Since that is not what the company wants (despite the claims of some of the more deranged posters on this forum), I have no doubt those running the game will create enough bonus events to help players who are falling behind to catch up. (Someone suggested having some "double XP weekends" which is great and very easy for Blizzard to set up.)
3. In fact, if I were a betting man, I'd predict that the "average player" will probably hit somewhere between lvl 55 and 60. Why? So that the average player says, "Hey, if I played a little more, I'd reach lvl XX!" So, during the next season, he does. Which is what Blizzard wants.
And there's nothing sinister or wrong with that approach. It's a win/ win. Blizzard gets a more active player base, and the player gets more gold.

That's... kinda scummy and pretty deceptive. I don't feel like I'm getting less rewards, but basically this is meant to make it look like you'll be earning bigger rewards the later you go, but it's going to actually be about the same. That's... obnoxious.
I don't feel like I'm earning less packs per day than I was under the old system, and the expansion-specific ones are kinda fun to do. But that's still pretty frustrating.
If you enjoy the game and just play, you will reach level 50 in under 4 months. People are acting like it's a travesty that you can't reach max level in a week when the system is designed for longetivety.

Some understand but don't want to accept.
Some accept but don't want to understand.
Some just don't want to understand.
Some accept.
No matter what a game does there will be a part of the community that will have problems understanding, accepting or both.
Cute, ineffective, but cute.
It's reachable... At cost of ur sanity.
