I quite like playing hl decks but all latest expansions are pointing towards a phasing out of the “no duplicates” rule. it’s quite sad really as the hl archetype is a fun one to play and I’m quite disappointed that it’s being ignored in all latest sets
We didn't need more highlander synergistic cards. There are quite a few classes that can still run highlander lists to good effect in combination with the new cards. Highlander decks are usually released near the beginning of a yearly cycle because they are on average, the costliest decks to craft dust wise (At the beginning of a new year, we usually have the most dust from disenchanting cards from the previous year). I myself have already created 3 different highlander decks and am very excited with what I can do with them in combination with the OG's (Old Gods!).

I am still going to try to make Highlander Paladin work, I actually just made one Yesterday haha:
I think they are trying not to make too many HL cards each year because if there was too much support, they would be on top of the meta, easily.
I mean, you look at standard this year, some classes made HL decks with only Zephrys and DQA, and then some even dropped her, too.
I think it goes to show that you don't need 3, 4 or 5 "no duplicate" cards to make a HL deck work, it only needs a couple really good ones.
But I wouldn't be surprised if we got some new ones next year since these ones will all be rotating out.
I think it is not easy to print new HL cards, especially neutral ones, as it can easily break wild where all the rotated ones are available...
