I've been playing a lot of Spell Druid with on and off success, and I've started to realize something.
Even though it isn't a Highlander deck, you put the Highlander cards into Galakrond Warlock anyway, because you go through your deck so fast you'll probably end up playing them anyway.
Spell Druid also goes through it's deck very fast with Nourish, Fungal Fortunes, Rising Winds can be used as draw, the excess mana from Overgrowth, Overflow if you run it (I personally don't, there's a ton in the draw in the deck as it is and I don't want to push my opponent further out of lethal, but it's accepted as a staple in the deck and I'll admit I've seen board states where I wish I had it) Every list I've seen uses Wrath... you can definitely draw all the dupes in your deck just as fast, if not faster than Galakrondlock. Having said that, there are obstacles.
A: Obviously, you can draw Zephyrs with the Fungal Fortunes. I don't often draw my Mountsellers with Fortunes as there's only two in the deck, but when I do... yeow. That smarts.
B: Looking over the basic and classic sets... what do you even want to actually discover with Zephyrs in this deck? Savage Roar would be great, sure. ...But then why not just run a copy of Savage Roar over Zephyrs? Bloodlust? More powerful than Savage Roar most of the time, but when you consider that Savage Roar doesn't make any of these decklists, and Bloodlust off of Zephyrs for 7 mana total is only so much better than that, is that really worth the middleman you run the risk of discarding? Fireball? The extra 6 damage would certainly be nice, but is it worth it? Pyroblast? Now we're talking, but again, is that really practical?
We're not even a week into the expansion so adjustments are still being made... I'm leaning to "no" on actually adding Zephyrs into the deck, but the more I think about it, the more I think some of the upside could potentially be the deciding factor in the game... he could easily be that missing damage that causes some of your losses.
What's everyone else think? Is this just crazy enough to work, or not even worth trying?
Zephrys usually offers The Black Knight or Shadow Word Death if there's a big enemy taunt in the way, or Twisting Nether if there are multiple. All good cards
